Louis Vuitton “Eva”
Straight from Paris into my collection… I’ve got to share this one with you. Tres chic
Although I usually don’t blab about how I bought this bag or that bag, I simply have to share my excitement about this one. I bought it without thinking twice, It was an instant crush! My “imagine me and you” process lasted less than a couple seconds and the deal was closed. The golden chain, which looks super chic when you leave it hanging like that and the cute shape… Mmmmm…. Anyway, I won’t be able to part from it for a few days now, it’s really practical and catchy and able to complement almost every outfit.
It comes with both a leather shoulder strap and the golden chain. The shoulder strap is completely detachable, the key to Eva’s versatility. Need a clutch type of bag for a night out? Attach the other side of the chain to the same side it’s fixed on and you have a wristlet. Need something more classy? Attach the chain to the opposite side, making a shoulder pochette of it. Shoulder strap is used for a laid back look, because then the bag is carried cross body with the gold chain used as a beautiful accent.
It comes with an engraved logoplate on the front and pleats on both sides. Interior is fine textile lined and the only downside is the lack of pockets. At this price, you simply cannot go wrong with this one.

Thanks for the review on the Eva bag. I love LV style but could never bring myself to spend so much $$$ on one bag when I could many for the same price. But, at this great price, I think I will spend the money to see what all the LV hype is all about. Thanks for the great insight.
I agree with you the prices are sky high and not just for LV designs but also for all other designer pieces… The best thing is probably to stop and think and let the time do all the work. Sometimes you’ll end up buying a bag and sometimes you’ll decide to go for something else. But if you decided to go for this one I can only say you won’t be sorry… It’s versatile, practical and will help you accessorize not only this season but many to come. I’ve already “paid off” mine and I have it only few months now, whether wearing it at day cross body style or at night as an evening bag…
Thanks for commenting and please come back for more reviews…
Hi Tina,
I ordered the Eva directly from LV today because my local LV stores were out. I usually buy Coach or Gucci handbags because they seem to have the highest value/quality ratio for me personally. I am 5′0 and 102 pounds so many trendy handbags are simply too large. I’m happy when clutches are in vogue again because any handbag that is larger than 10-12″ long is too overbearing for my petite frame.
Question… is the strap on the Eva so long that you could carry it on the shoulder without strapping it across the body? I don’t particularly like this look on me. I intend on removing the shoulder strap as I do all my handbags and use the golden brass chain.
I’m looking forward to moving deeper into designer goods provided they are indeed unique and high quality. I’ve always been financially able to afford much more than I ever spent. Too many brands distinguish themselves as quality but clearly are not. So, Coach and Gucci became my trusted brands. How do you think they compare against LV?
So… I see we are pretty much similar hight and weight so I can give you the advice first hand. The shoulder strap is very long and carrying it on a shoulder isn’t much of a thrill. Not only that it doesn’t look good, it also doesn’t feel right. So for the shoulder-bag-look stick with the chain strap. The removable shoulder strap is a part of those permanent accessories for many of LV designs, from bags to luggage, so you’ll be able to use it on something else in the future maybe.
I suggest you leave making the decision on cross body wearability until you get your hands on the bag because you might be surprised. It gives a very different, laid back look once straped across the body - it’s not an usual cross body bag so maybe because of that - it looks chic and attractive.
As for the brands and comparison… Well… You’ve pointed out two high quality and top fashion brands that made their way to top throughout many years and even more changes in a world of fashion so I think that the fact that these brands are still present and very much represented speaks for it self. I don’t know how much interested you are in the whole handbag-thing, but many women actually say they started their collection with Coach handbags. Gucci also, but Coach is something like a starting point. I think you have great grounds on making us all jealous some day
And as for LV - I’m not their brand manager so I won’t blab about their tradition, trunks and all… The brand became very know and has distinguished itself on the grounds of quality and I mean real quality - the type of quality that you won’t be able to witness often and that’s something the brand continues to work on and I think you’ll agree - that’s worth of paying respect. As for the designs, well, people usually love it or hate it. LV logo is a very big question mark because it’s always talked about but I said pretty much everything about that in my LV Galliera post so I won’t repeat myself…
Anyway, this is already a nice debate
And I almost forgot, when will the bag arrive? I really hope it turns out to be all you thought it would… And I hope to hear from you soon…
Hi Tina,
You’re going to laugh (I hope) and want to kill me!
I received the Eva clutch and do not like it. I’m not sure what I was expecting but it left me disappointed. I didn’t like how the bag used part of the fabric/zipper as part of the brass chain. I didn’t see this element when I purchased it. Overall, I simply wasn’t impressed by the quality of LV as I had hoped. I don’t know what to say… thanks for giving your input and advice. I’m sorry that LV didn’t make it’s mark with me.
