YSL “Metallic Majorelle Medium Top Handle”

This bag has been available for quite some time now, and I kind of felt bad for not writing about it so I am gonna make up for it now. Anyhow, as you might have figured out, I have had this bag in mind for a while now. I’ve noticed it from the first time it became available online and I really liked it!
Majorelle is not a new bag, but somehow I still find it breathtaking, I just love this gold volcano leather version so much. Gold is a color you can combine with anything (I really cannot think of anything that would not go well with it), and as noticable as it may look, it is still somewhat neutral. I liked the Saks description: “metallic finish adds glitz to this otherwise elegant style” - that is the point exactly.

The bag is featured with a zip top closure, interior zip and cell pockets, fully cotton lined interior and 6″ drop double top handles. All in all, a classic from the house of YSL in a vibrant edition, which perfectly combines the elegant shape and overall look of the bag with the energy that spring and summer bring out in us. Who said classics are supposed to be serious all the time?

I also wanted to cover the violet Majorelle in this post, because I was blown away by the color, but the thing I resent is the patent leather (I am utterly bored with it) which would be my reason for passing on this one.

YSL “Ivory Tan Leather Trim Large Tote”

Say what you want, but this is a true shoulder tote. I mean, the shape, the material, the combination of colors… Everything about it is right where it should be. Even though I’m not all crazy over each and every design that the YSL designers come up with, I have to give them credit and admit that their handbags always end up looking great.

YSL “Large Melon Patent Leather Muse”

Tina has already written a post about the Muse bag, the croc Muse to be specific or, as she called it - THE Muse. But since we have spring knocking on our doors, it is about time we covered the new Muse version accordingly. I personally adore the color - it saved the crinkled patent leather from looking AW. The vibrant color is this bag’s key feature and I found it on Bluefly for less than a $1000 just for you!

There is nothing much to say about it except to repeat Tina’s words that reflect her adoration for this bag. As for my personal preferences, this particular size is most appealing and if I was getting myself a Muse, that would be the size I would be going for. The oversized version lost most of it’s femininity and charm in the process of making it big enough to be considered an oversized bag… It just got lost on the way there I guess.

I will give you the scoop on the features eventhough I am sure that more than 90% of you bagddicts know this bag better than your hubbies/bf’s. As you can see, it is featured with a top two-way zip closure, the interior is satin lined with zip and cell phone pockets and there are five protective metal feet on the base. I have to repeat myself again - the color is simply fabulous. Grab it before it’s gone!

YSL “Bouganvill Patent Leather Medium Downtown Tote”

Tina has already written a post about a limited edition of this piece of arm candy - the Transparent Downtown. I have seen a few spring Downtowns at Saks and I decided to cover this one because it stirred my emotions the most. You might have noticed by now that I usually have a problem with patent leather on spring bags, but I couldn’t let this one pass regardless. The main reason behind my decision to cover this one is the divine bouganvill color - it has taken the Downtown tote to a completely different level.

I will even completely overlook the patent leather because this is a type of bag which can look amazing in any material. I feel this is a perfect bag for a bussy weekday when you have to run around town running errands. I am not saying I’d never take this bag with me when I’m going on vacation, but I feel as if I would carry it in the situations simillar to the one above mostly, and that makes the patent leather much easier to stomach.

No, no, no, every time I switch to the Saks tab with this bag on it I end up totally neglecting the fact that it is in patent (crinkled if I may add, which in this case makes it more acceptable for me, unlike in the spring Hillier hobo). This color has gotten under my skin instantly and the whole thing is way beyond the point of no return..

Let me give you the scoop of the Bouganvill Downtown features - there is a pocket on the front, which I really like because the versions which don’t have it look as if something was missing. The top is open, but the sides are featured with zippers (this is also important to me because if the whole top was left open I wouldn’t like it this much) and the interior is canvas lined and features a zip pocket.

To end my post I will satisfy my urge to say how much I am enchanted by this version of Downtown, and how the color is simply breathtaking enough for an impulse purchase you will not end up regreting.

YSL “Catwalk Nubuck Bag”

This is not a bag I would usually be attracted to. I am more of a hobo type of girl, but this bag just has something irresistable about it. Generally speaking, YSL is very high on my favourite brands list, mostly due to the quality of their products. That is the case with all YSL bags, they all look classy and you can count on high quality materials and craftmanship. What has drawn me to this particular bag was the anthracite color and the croc embossed leather mix - I simply adore it, it looks as chic as it gets. Also, being made of nubuck leather it is sure to leave a velvety feel under your fingers - yummy.

What I find intriguing is how simple the shape of this bag is, and how it’s simple shape makes it shine instead of looking simple or dull as many bags of this kind end up looking. This one will stay chic no matter what the trends dictate at any point, this is a pure classic. The croc embossed leather and the delicious shade of grey are so alluring I am literally in love. I could stare at this bag for hours and not get bored…

Anyhow, it is a top handle bag and I like the fact that it is because it wouldn’t look as good if it was carried on the shoulder. I can picture this one on the crook of my elbow and that’s just where it’s supposed to be. The bag has three large gussets and the interior is featured with satin silk lining and a zip pocket along with a flap with a magnetic closure.

I’d say this is a bag you’d definitely want to put on your whish list, or maybe take advantage of the fact that Saks is having a Spendsome getsome offer today and make an impulse purchase you will NOT regret.

YSL Medium Croc Tote

UH OH! This one is TOO MUCH for me, I am actually trembling from excitment, I absolutely love it. YSL has that effect on me. You see, almost every bag they release is everything but simple and ordinary, and almost everything that is not simple and ordinary has a strange repulsive effect on me. It’s not that I don’t like too see something different, I really do, but I tend to like, and go for a a certain type of bags. And then a YSL bags comes along and all of a sudden I can’t stand simple and ordinary, you know how everything you thought and believed in simply fades away once you’re confronted with a beautiful bag… And this is by all means a very beatiful bag… :-)

Made of croc embossed silver PVC material with the mirrored effect, this one isn’t for someone who couldn’t stand being stared at and talked about because believe me, you won’t pass unnoticed with it. As for the carryabilty factor, I think without any doubt it will work perfect for the summer as well as for winter. In addtion to the beautiful exterior, a magnetic snap closure reveales silk satin lined interior featured with a zipped and a cell pocket which are enough to help you organize whatever you are carrying inside. Considering it’s a YSL and made to be a hit you better grab yours it right now since the price is more than agreeable!

YSL Small Satchel

It takes courage to carry a white bag around becuase they get stained so easily if you are not extra careful, easpecially when it’s an expensive bag or one of your favorites, it becomes impossible to shake off that fear that it will get stained and dirty.. White bags are, as far as I’m concerned, reserved for rare occasions, and they are deffinitely not meant to be carried all the time unless of course, you are super cautious when you carry them… I rarely go for white bags because of that, and even when I decide to go for one, I often end up buying it in some other color regardless of the fact that I liked the white one the most.

All that won’t stop me from posting about this beauty though. Seeing it really makes me want to take all I’ve said before back and just rush to whip out my credit card and buy it. Coming form the house of YSL, there’s not much to say about it because we all know what YSL stands for in terms of quality and attractiveness. The leather is top quality and the style is timeless, no matter how edgy some of their bags look at first sight. This one isn’t edgy at all, it is a true classic collectors piece worth having in your collection - pretty odd because white usually works best for smaller trendy bags - something this one most deffinitely isn’t.

Detailed only with gold toned hardware, this shoulder bag can be carried it as a top handle as well. Interior is satin lined and featured with zip and cell phone pockets. Five metal feet at base are placed to secure the bottom and to minimize the chances of the leather getting dirty.

Simple, beautiful!

YSL “Muse Two” @ BergdorfGoodman.com

Muse Two has arrived @ BergdorfGoodman! I have to share a piece of information with you about the name of the bag before I start my post. It was originally meant to be called “Forever”, but guys from YSL decided to go for Muse Two (a good marketing point if I may add), but, it is named Forever Satchel at BG, I honestly do not know why. Just so you do not get confused and think: hey, is this really the Muse Two, because if it is, why the hell would they name it something else? Yes, it is Muse Two, no worries

In the first post about Muse Two we had only the ad, which showed the navy croc version, my favourite by the way, and some basic info available. This is a multicolor version made of buffalo leather, a bit more interesting due to the contrast in color, but less fresh than the one in the ad. But I think there is not a single version of Muse Two that could beat the navy croc in my case so please do not find me as an objective source in this case.

I read the Muse Two impressions that the Bagsnob ladies shared on their site after seeing the bag irl. There are two more things you should know about if you are considering buying the bag, and thanks to Bagsnob I can share them with you. The bag is actually made of canvas and the leather pieces are sewn on a canvas base. I personally do not find that to be a setback, since it is a part of the SS collection, but I presume some of you will not like this at all. The other thing that worries me, but just a bit, is the fact that due to the handle being attached to the flap which has a lock closure, you can’t possibly carry this bag while it’s open, since all your things would fall out, and if not that, it would look hmmm, let’s say not so good. But I think I can overlook this issue as well, since pretty much every bag that finds itself on my shoulder or on the crook of my elbow is closed. But, I have to admit, it is something they should have thought of.

To sum it up - although this info may leave a bitter taste for some ladies, thus decrease the euphoria they may have experienced over it, I have to say that I feel about this bag the same as I did when I first saw it - fabulous - period.

YSL “Muse Clutch”

This gorgeous clutch is a new addititon to the YSL.com Online butique selection, and since we always try to do our best when it comes to keeping you up to date on new arrivals, I started writing this post immediately. Not only because of that, but also because this clutch deserves all the attention it can possibly have. It’s deffinitely time to go on a lookout for summer bags and you’ve got to make some room for various clutches among all those roomy totes which you’ll be carrying during summer days. We have to consider buying sky-high expensive ones just as much those more acceptable-priced ones. That’s why we present clutches of various styles, from various designers and from different price ranges to you here, including Jimmy Choo, Prada, Michael Kors, Kooba, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, D&G and Bottega Veneta, but nothing from YSL which is a shame. But on the other hand, I didn’t find any which were available in the Online store worthy to be put side by side with all these posted earlier. The Belle de Jour clutch is nice but nothing special. It gives me an impression it’s like an entry-level clutch. You know, the one you buy just to say you have something coming from YSL or any other designer, so you don’t want to spend more than $500, which I personally think is sensless. I mean, if it’s about saving money and all, than it’s better to save money during the whole year and buy something TDF, than to save money for 3 months and buy something not worth anything. Then we also have the Square Minaudiere Clutch and the Chain Bag which I find much more appealing, since it’s more wearable and way more charming. But still, none of these made me sit down and share my impressions with you as Muse clutch did.

The colors of the lizard on this structred and proportioned clutch make it ultra alluring. When it comes to bags like this, skin is the thing on which everything depends - it has to be implemented, treated and crafted meticulously. See how the center of the bag looks different than the sides, and that’s not by accident. That alone dictates the color of the bag since it has to emphasize that detail in a right way. You can choose between two shades of pink and two shades of silver among which my favourite is the pink bordeaux one. Muse-like closure is made of brass hardware and the interior is featured with an inside pocket.

YSL “Raspail Large Tote”

I think we can all agree when I say there’s something strange with the red color on this bag. Red can have a huge magnetic effect especially if it’s in a right shade and if the bag itself, of course, is a hit. This time, however, we have a rather plain and simple bag which isn’t special at all, from the shape to the material - simple tote in crocodile-embossed patent leather… Been there, done that…But it’s the bright and strong red that gives this bag it’s personality and charm.

It is also available in black and white ivory, and if I had to choose between these two I’d go for the ivory one since the black doesn’t emphesize the croc-embossed detail enough, and the bag looks sort of dull no matter how gleaming the patent leather is.
The interior is canvas lined, featured with cell phone and zip pockets and closed with a magnetic closure. It’s made as a top handle bag with double handles with a 6″ drop which makes it perfect when carried on the crook of your elbow since it’s rather big, but lighweighted and comfy looking. I say it’s a great accessory for weekend shopping sprees and girls-lunch-out And that’s about it
