Tod’s “Goa Pochette”
So what’s up with Tod’s these days? I mean, I might really end up buying one of their bags. Softy Shopping Tote Media got me worked up pretty bad, I spent a whole hour admiring it and ended up adding it to my wishlist. I’ve noticed this subtle turn towards more feminine designs on latest Tod’s bags but I held my excitment back because I didn’t want to get my hopes up too early, but enough is enough. It is time to start sharing the excitment with you even if that means saying things and feeling sensations I’ve never felt before… Talk about being poetical…
They are still holding on to their recognizable shape and style, it’s just that some details are more subtle, and those newly added ones are really feminine and gentle which is usually enugh to set every woman off, and don’t try to convince me otherwise.
Zoe, a genuine Prada freak, made me take a closer look at this kind of bags with her Prada Crispy Clutch post, which resulted in me changing my opinion about them which does not happen often. I’ve always somehow ignored bags of this type, thinking it was better to save the money for bigger, more luxurious and more expensive ones. That’s why I haven’t got any of these in my collection, and now I want to change that ASAP even if that means spending a lot more money and ending up being fed up with them. Learn from my experience, whenever you see a cute and affordable wristlet, if you like it take it home with you, you won’t be sorry. I’ll make it all up to myself, I promise
This pochette simply rocks! Smooth grained leather in a beautiful and rather rare color, which will be great for summer since it is a complementing contrast to almost every color. It could be a wrsitlet and it would also look great. Its charm is in the laid back, comfy note that subtly accents the innocent look which comes from the earlier mentioned color and the beautiful leather. It’s very versatile which is a definite plus. Key details are the rouching on each side and the horizontal folds on front and back, which are also signature details on recent styles. As for other details, you’ve got the metal tipped braided leather tassels and that’s about it. You can wear pretty much everything when you are carrying it… From floral or psyhodelic patterned dresses to casual combos… Get the idea?
Yeah, go and get it, I know I will…

Tod’s “Softy Shopping Tote Media”

Ahhhhhh… I am melting… Cuteeeeee…. I don’t know if it’s the color, the shape or the ruched detail on the sides, but I am totally in love with this one. I can’t believe I see a bag so feminine and dulcet coming form Tod’s. I already said I’m not much of a fan of Tod’s handbags, and it’s all because it seems that their ideas always get lost somehere along the way so the final product never looks the way it was suppoused to look. But right now we have an example of a great idea being translated into a great handbag, no way I’ll let it pass unnoticed.
It’s like they hired someone from Bottega and told them to implement Bottega’s way of thinking into Tod’s manufacturing. Isn’t it so with the mild “stucco” colour, braided handles, rouched sides and the cute, comfy shape? I mean, it’s not like I could ever mistake this for a Bottega, but it does have a Bottega touch to it, doesn’t it? Or maybe I’m crazy after Zoe made me take a look at new arrivals at Bottega which kept my mind spinning for hours later. I better not start talking about those, because I probably won’t be able to stop, and then you’ll think I’m crazy and God knows what else so let’s get back to this beauty
The leather is smooth and grained, smooth because it’s grained and not vice versa. I can’t get my mind off of thinking that this is probably the best color for this bag. It emphasizes the shape of the bag just as much the braided handles and rouched sides and it complements the polished gold metal hardware in a way you’ll rarely see. The bag is seemingly folded on the front and back, and the magnetic snap closure on the top of the bag secures the logo jacquard lined interior with a zipped pocket. Have no doubt, with this bag on your shoulder you’ll be recognized as a true bagddicted aesthete.

Tod’s “Took Sacca Media”
I know this might sound a bit strange and odd, since Tod’s is a renowed designer house, but somehow it never made it to my favourites. When discussing their bags, I consider them overhyped. Maybe it’s just that their vision of what a handbag should look like isn’t compatible with mine, but anyhow, my opinion is that they just can’t get it right. I mean, you can’t design a bag looking like this and expect people to like it. I’m not saying that I dislike all their bags, but I would never consider buying any.
On the other hand they do know how to design and make great shoes, so they should probably just stick to that, instead of designing bags that are rarely worth of any admiration at all.
This has been my opinion for a long time now, and since I only recently decided to share my opinions and views with you, I thought it was time I say it aloud, particularly because this one alarmed my senses. There’s no point in weighing what to say and what to hold back, especially because I consider honesty to be a virtue.
Seems like someone was in a big hurry when finishing this bag, because not enough attention was paid to detailing the bag properly. Judging by the absurd shape of the pockets on the front, I would say that this bag is a combination of two different bags. Is it really possible no one noticed that when actually manufacturing it? I understand you can pair two different black socks together, but how can this happen with a bag? Why not call this bag Negligence Sacca Media? And the price?
Enough said…
