Prada “Brown Cervo Lux Shoulder Bag”

I was hoping this bag would be available in some other color than black. I loved the shape and the shiny deerskin, but I somehow couldn’t get over the fact that it was black. I don’t know if it was because we are all more into vivid colors during this time of year, but no matter how good the black one looked I would still prefer another color. This shade of the brown, on the other hand, looks simply gorgeous! The glossy finish gives it a perfect dose of freshness, I absolutely love it!

You might say the price is set too high but hey, it’s Prada and we’ve been through that subject already. If it makes things any easier, the shape and the style are as timeless as the material is, so we might as well say this bag is one of those we would consider as a sound investment. The interior is closed with magnetic button closure. Me likey!

Prada “Glace Calf Satchel”

This one looks really impressive when you see it irl. The “glace” in the bag’s name is there for a reason because it really looks glaced and that is what makes it look kind of massive and gives it a special luxurious touch. Add the gold toned hardware, which creates a great contrast to the color of the bag, and you have a winner.

The price is pretty steep at over $2000 and that is the only turn off with this one. Regardless of the fact that I really like this one, don’t think I would actually consider spending over two thousands dollars on it because I wouldn’t. There are bags out there in this price range which I would pick over this one any day, and I’m not talking about other designers but about Prada itself. I’ve noticed how everyone always mentions LV and Chanel when it comes to high price tags, but I haven’t stumbled upon a single comment about Prada handbag prices, which let’s be honest, make you feel like spending only a thousand on one of them is a great deal.

I’m not saying Prada isn’t worth the money, it most definitely is, and I am fully aware of the fact that quality comes at a price, it’s just that the prices are constantly going up and keeping up with all the great stuff Prada comes out with is getting pricier and pricier. And don’t tell me how we have Miu Miu if we want a more agreeable price range because it’s a matter of when, not if, the prices of those two labels will be equal. Miu Miu isn’t Prada’s little sister anymore. No, no… You can say what you want, but it’s all in the mechanics of supply and demand. Miu Miu is sought after and wanted more and more with each passing day, and this can only lead to one thing - prices going up. On the other hand, that’s something we have to learn to live with if we decide to chase designer bags.

As for this bag… It definitely has the looks to go with the price tag. It’s looks will make everyone around you turn green of envy because it is undeniably gorgeous, even if it really isn’t all that unique, but the subtle touch of true luxury it has to it is what makes it different from many other bags. It doesn’t ask for admiration and respect, it gets it without asking, and that’s exactly what you will also receive as it’s owner.

Prada “Vitello Daino Mini Hobo”

I can already see this one getting sold out in in the blink of an eye, the metallic look is simply too hot to be true. It also comes in black, but that version is not nearly as attractive as this one. The shiny metallic platinum / cold color is a hit for this season, and I think it will continue to be for at least the next S/S season too. The shape, and the way it’s carried is nothing new, since it’s the usual Prada style, but this time it’s detailed with adjustable buckles on the shoulder strap which is great because you can comfortably carry it as a shoulder bag just as much as a top handle.

The more I look at this bag, the more I think it will be a huge hit for the next few seasons. This metallic look reappears every year around spring due to the summery feel of the golden metallic leather, which is great because you can take any A/W hobo in, let’s say, black redo it in the metallic color and you’ve got a S/S handbag. Am I right ir what?

Prada “Soft Calf Hobo”

Look what I have found in the Prada leather essentials section at NM! This is so cute and appealing that I will completely ignore the “white bags equals dirty bags” theory and share my new found love with you. I love it and I do not care if it’s white, I will not even think about it getting stained - it won’t get stained - it just won’t…. I’ll just keep telling that to myself! The black version doesn’t stand a chance against this one. If it was a shoulder bag, I would have loved it even more, but nevertheless, it’s simply gorgeous!

I just love the pleated front and the belt encircling the top, those two details go along divinely, giving the bag a more laid back feel - just the thing I need, considering the state of mind I was in today. This is a bag that will match a leather jacket just as well as your favorite trenchcoat even though I would probably ideally go for a blue jeans, white ruffled shirt and a black leather jacket kind of combination to make this beauty shine.

I just wish it was a shoulder bag.. That is the only thing I would change about it, nothing major, I would simply like a longer strap, that’s all. But anyway, this one is a gorgeous, not “in-your-face” bag that would be a long term investment, since it does not have any trendy details that would put it at risk of being forgotten about next season. We all need at least a couple of bags like this one, to accompany us in the tough times between the seasons, when we are waiting for the new goodies to show up.

Prada “Nappa Folders Convertible Clutch”

Zoe is usually the one on the constant lookout for Prada bags and I was shocked to hear that she hasn’t planed to cover this one yet. Anyway, I’m sure she’ll agree with me 100% when I say it is simply gorgeous! It represents everything a girl can ever dream to have on her shoulder. The smashing combination of colors, coupled with the idea which Prada designers translated into this wonderful bag make me simply adore it. And the idea is to to have a bag which you can pull out of your closet occasionaly and carry it for completely casual events, but at the same time be able to grab it when you want your bag to get some attention going your way. It’s simply so versatile that it can work for almost any occasion. However, just because it can work for any occasion doesn’t mean that you will end up carrying it all the time. At first you might go crazy over it so you’ll probably spend hours in your wardrobe trying to put together various outfits which will work in perfect synergy with this bag, but that way you’ll probably get bored by it pretty soon… Don’t do that - it’s a perfect bag to have laying around for those moments when none of your favorites will do, it will save you in those occasions.

The “convertible” stands for the possibility of folding the top of the bag over, which reveals the pink interior turning this bag into a multicolor beauty which opens an opportunity for your playful side to stand out when you feel like it. The shoulder strap can be removed if you desire, but I really like the way it looks with it attached, It’s neither too long nor too short to stand in the way regardless of how you decide to carry the bag. The interior is fully lined, featured with one zip pocket and closed with zip top closure.

I know Zoe is going to add this one to her S/S favourites…

Prada “Oversized Tote”

Well, this is the bag which perfectly reflects what I am trully all about. You know how I am always saying that a bag can tell pretty much everything about a woman’s personality, or at least about her current mood. Well, this is it. I feel my best when I’m carrying this kind of bag. I adore clutches, especially the oversized ones, but bags looking like this just set off certain triggers. Look at the shape and the slouchy/comfy look that radiates from this beauty and tell me is it possible to not want to grab it tightly and never let go? I don’t know how come I never came across it before. Even worse, how come I don’t have this one? I want it so bad I’ll go and buy it the minute I stop writing this post. It’s bussines before pleasure after all…

The soft deerskin is what is giving this tote the look I described, and it works much better for this kind of bags than the more often used lambskin as far as I noticed in my bagddicted history. It has almost no details if you leave out the gusseted front and the imprinted logo. We can say the key detail of this bag is that it hasn’t really got any - pure beauty out of pure simplicty. Oh, I love it, love it, love it so much I’ll start screaming!

Snap closures are placed on the top of the bag on both sides, and alow you to gather or loosen the tote depending on the look you’re trying to achieve. The snap closures also reveal the logo jacquard lined interior, which is featured with a zip pocket.

Prada “Degrade Patent Clutch”

Patent has definitely made it’s way into the SS08 collections. I am still not sure whether I like that or not, but way to go patent!! As you can see, I am posting about a Prada bag yet again, and I am starting to feel silly since I haven’t written as many posts about Prada in the short life of Bagddicted as I have in the past 20 days. Anyway, let’s leave my Prada obsession aside and talk about the Degrade clutch.

I have to admit, I haven’t fallen in love with this one, reason being the patent leather which I still cannot make my mind over since this is a SS bag and patent works best for AW. I do like the gradient effect that makes these bright pink and tourquoise leather bags look really refreshing, especially the tourquoise one, reminiscent of hot summer days and the heavenly sensations of refreshment when you dive into the sea. Ahh, I can’t wait for summer (I really, really need to stop daydreaming ). The cream topstiching blends in great, giving the clutch a special touch.

Ok, back to patent leather. I would have to see this clutch irl to be able to tell if it’s a go, I’m hoping I won’t get dissapointed.

All in all, my verdict would be - a great clutch for this season, I do not think patent will stay as hot as it is now, so it might not hurt to keep that in mind. It does looks awesome, it is bigger than your usual clutch (another plus), but the patent and the way it might end up looking irl is making me have second thoughts.

Prada “Cipria Gauffre Tote”

Ok, this is cute! Very cute! The shade of pink is just perfect, very soft and feminine looking, definitely not Barbie style like on too many pink bags. It does stand out, but it doesn’t scream, which is very important when you are trying to achieve that feminine, gentle look. Tina has already commented on my latest Prada obsession, starting with the Cervo Pleat tote and the Trembled Blossoms Bag. But what can I do when Prada released so many delicious handbags recently?? I cannot let them pass unnoticed.. Any of them!

But this one really caught my attention. I love how feminine it is, but not in that old fashioned way, the one that is often associated with that expression.. Ah, nm, this is for some other discussion.. I really do not care about it being pricey, it is a must have piece - period. It is a beautiful, spacious day bag, which is capable of holding all the things you might need throughout the day. I can honestly say, from my point of view, this bag is worthy of it’s price, unlike many bags out there which cost just as much or even more, that cannot match the quality and the design of Prada bags.

Also, since the bag is in a soft color, you will be able to carry it in the upcomming seasons, not only this spring. It won’t end up being just another bag in the dark corner of your closet.

Prada “Nappa Stripes Medium Hobo”

Zoe covered the Fairy Bag and Trembled Blossoms Bag a couple of days ago, and there’s almost nothing I could disagree with in her posts, but I have something to add. Let’s start with the Fairy bag. The leather used for this bag is gorgeous and high quality making this bag very durable and long lasting and for a damn good reason. If you liked the bag, get it now. Don’t think you’ll get away with buying it next year - it’s this season or never since this is a real collectors piece and judging by the buzz it has created, a lot of ladies will be after one. It is a hit this year, but the next year everyone will foget about it. But then, 3 or 5 years later, you’ll have nothing but amazed looks of admiration comming your way if you still have it. It isn’t made to be an usual, every day bag and this season you’ll be in the center of attention wherever you show up carrying it, but after this season it will fade away, just to reemerge a couple of years later and be a hit again. That’s how I feel about it, it is a real collectors piece and worth having in your collection.

Now about the Trembled Blossoms Bag. Imho, this is the ace up Prada’s sleeve. They released it early enough to give this collection enough time to grow on us since, let’s face it, there are women who dislike this style. The majority of reactions I’ve seen were more than positive (mine included), but it wouldn’t be fair we let it pass unsaid that this kind of bags don’t suit every taste.

But, my splurge of the day has everything to do with another Prada bag which is not so catchy as these two - Nappa Stripes Medium Hobo. They forgot to put “gorgeous” somewhere. Just look at this bag for a minute and try not to start shaking and drooling. It’s almost impossible. I mean, you’ve got to be really immune to beauty to keep this bag out of your mind or away from your hands. It represents true handbag beauty and glory. This gorgeous color, which is a total hit for a reason, and its stitched stripes detailing and emphasizing the very well proportioned shape and structure of the bag and the wide shoulder strap will satisfy all your cravings.

As for the gold toned hardware, it is used just in the amount neccessary to give the bag that extra touch, and it complements the color perfectly. The open top is partialy closed with a magnetic snap closure and reveals the fully lined interior featured with a zip pocket. The sane person in me says it is pretty expensive, but the bagddict in me somehow just can’t accept that. Currently I’m in such a state of mind that I’d probably find an excuse even if it was three times as expenive. I’m really losing it…

Anyway, having said all this, my mind is comletely empty. It’s like I’m hypnotized, so I better end this post and let you enjoy the bag.

Prada SS08 “Striped Nappa Hobo” Update

I just saw that Saks.com has my favorite version of Striped Nappa Hobo, and I had to write a post dedicated to it. I am very tempted to get myself one of these very soon. Anyway, since I have written about these bags two days ago, I do not see any reason to repeat myself, everything I think about them is in the original Stripped Nappa Hobo post. I just couldn’t restrain myself from letting you all know that it is available online as well.

Also, you can find the small Striped Hobos in violet, black and the multicolored versions. The violet one is quite interesting but it doesn’t beat this one - this version has a special place in my heart!
