Chloe “Saskia Patchwork Pouchette”

I have to admit that I found the other bags from the Saskia line utterly unattractive. The oversized flaps on the front pockets give them a certain unproportional feel which simply doesn’t feel right. On the other hand, this Saskia pouchette caught my attention from the beginning. I have been eyeing it for a while, and the more I looked at it, the more it I grew to like it. At first, I thought it was refreshing but not something you’d see me carrying, but having caught myself opening its page on NAP couple of times in the past few days, I can definitely say I would like to have it in my collection.

The flaps on this Saskia pouchette are meant to bring a little bit of chaos into the mix, because it is a bag that has playful written all over it. The colors are vibrant, the pastel shades work together perfectly, and the whole bag has a soothing, playful vibe to it. This is what I particularly like about it, it is fun and energetic but not overdone. A very good job, Chloe, very very tempting

Let me cover all the important features: fully lined interior, magnetic closure, interior zip pocket, logo plaque and the buckle details. This pochette will hold all your essentials, it has a pocket for the important stuff or stuff you would like to be at your reach, and a secured top.

All in all, I really love it, I love the wild color scheme which is combined with a very ordinary shape. I would definitely carry this cutie everywhere with me for both day and night time activities. This is just how versatile this clutch is - a perfect spring investment!

Miu Miu “Matelasse Leather Clutch”

Here we have an example of how shrinking big bags to a smaller size doesn’t always go the right way. Zoe was right when she said that the “smaller, younger twins” of popular bags often turn out to be even better looking and more desirable than the originals. The smaller versions are also almost always more affordable which also counts for something .

Anyway, back to Matelasse clutch.. Well… How do I say this delicately? Last time I saw a bag released in a smaller version was when Mahina XS was introduced. Not only I was disappointed at first, but I also cought myself really disliking it, in all the ways you can dislike a bag. It wasn’t one bit of what I expected it would be and, truth to be told, I couldn’t believe it. Zoe did a great job covering that bag so there no point in me repeting everything she has said - I agree with her and that’s it. As for this one… It isn’t really a younger twin of another Miu Miu, but the way it’s made and the details on it reveal the idea behind it. The idea was a rebirth of the original Miu Miu Matelasse Coffer Bag, but in a smaller size and for a different purpose - can you say bad idea? When you come out with something like the original Matelasse and make a splash with it, making people all around the world go crazy over it, and define a certain fashion era with it, you really need to stop right there and not try to reinvent it over and over again.

Those who didn’t originally like this collection won’t like it now either, no matter how much smaller, bigger or different in any way you make it. Those who did go crazy over it have already bought it and are happy with what they have. They have moved on a long time ago and won’t go back. As I said, the original was a boom, whether you like the way it looks or not, and no other bag will ever be able to fill its shoes.

As for this pochette - been there, done that. Signature clasp as a front detail, thin shoulder strap for carrying it and fuchsia fully lined interior, meh.

Louis Vuitton “Pochette Bonbon Rose”

Uh oh! I think I will have to stop writing about my issues with patent leather since there have been so many SS bags I really liked recently, which happen to be in patent but are simply too gorgeous for me to look the other way. I will say this now and I won’t bring the subject up any more. I do not feel like patent leather anymore, but I will overlook it if it is incorporated into the design in a way that the bag looks like a SS bag at the end of the day. I am not thrilled by the patent on SS bags, and it really does have a strong impact on how much I like the bag, but from now on, I will do my best to either ignore the patent leather, or if it really looks messed up, I will simply say the bag looks like a past AW bag instead of a SS08 bag. Case closed.

Having said all this, I think it would be about time I start writing about this cuter than cute pochette. First of all, I love the fact it is a pochette. It would really be too much for my taste if it were any bigger, since the design, or color scheme to be more specific, is somewhat bold and leaves a really strong impression. I feel that in a bigger size it would leave too much of an impression, if you know what I mean. This size is just fine.

The pochette can be hand held or carried on the shoulder - in this case, I would prefer to carelessly carry it as a top handle. The handles are adjustable and the top is featured with a zip closure. Some of the other features include contrast microfiber lining, golden brass hardware and an interior patch pocket. The address label is removable, and I am not quite sure what I would do with it. I am not much of an address label fan to be honest, but in this case it seems like it is giving this pochette more charm.. I would most likely simply remove it the moment I got my hands on it regardless, I don’t know..

Anyhow, the Bonbon Pochette comes in two versions: the turquoise version with pink leather details and in pink version with red leather details. I prefer the turquoise one because it feels really light and carefree, as we all feel in springtime, and the pink version seems too heavy for my current taste.

Both versions are bold, but also very refreshing, which is exactly what I love about them. I ceirtainly wouldn’t mind having this one in my collection, although I have to say that this is the kind of bag you would buy when you already own a considerable collection, since it is not a bag that will suit any occasion or complement any outfit. If you can’t restrain yourself from buying it anyways, who am I to blame you.

Louis Vuitton “Eva”

Straight from Paris into my collection… I’ve got to share this one with you. Tres chic Although I usually don’t blab about how I bought this bag or that bag, I simply have to share my excitement about this one. I bought it without thinking twice, It was an instant crush! My “imagine me and you” process lasted less than a couple seconds and the deal was closed. The golden chain, which looks super chic when you leave it hanging like that and the cute shape… Mmmmm…. Anyway, I won’t be able to part from it for a few days now, it’s really practical and catchy and able to complement almost every outfit.

It comes with both a leather shoulder strap and the golden chain. The shoulder strap is completely detachable, the key to Eva’s versatility. Need a clutch type of bag for a night out? Attach the other side of the chain to the same side it’s fixed on and you have a wristlet. Need something more classy? Attach the chain to the opposite side, making a shoulder pochette of it. Shoulder strap is used for a laid back look, because then the bag is carried cross body with the gold chain used as a beautiful accent.

It comes with an engraved logoplate on the front and pleats on both sides. Interior is fine textile lined and the only downside is the lack of pockets. At this price, you simply cannot go wrong with this one.

Dior “Dior Lovely Pochette”

I am not impressed.. While I do like the shape, the interesting handle (eventhough I think it could have been made more proportional to the size of the pochette, but I could overlook that) and the simple and elegant design, the logo jacquard kind of gets in the way. I could even overlook the dangling Dior letters, but all the little details that I didn’t like made this one a no go for me. I have to admit that it did catch my attention, but after I have noticed the logo jacquard the appeal was gone. If this pochette was made of plain soft leather, I think I would really like it. I’m not sure, since that dangling D logo is poking my eyes and occupying all my attention at the moment.

If you like this line you, I guess you will find the Lovely pochette adorable. I just don’t, which is not to say there’s something terribly wrong with it, It’s just not my cup of tea. The whole bag is loaded with logos. You will notice the dangling Dior letters on the black version first, then you will notice the Dior logo all over tha bag, and after that, as a cherry on top, there is the Dior logo again on the metal plate the Dior letters are dangling on. See how many times I used the word Dior in my previous sentence? Well, that is the problem you will have with this bag, it simply screams Dior so hard you might doubt it being a Dior in the end, if you get my piont…

Well, I really do not know what else to say about this bag… Maybe that you can choose between three colors? Or maybe not.. At least the price is not sky high.. But then again, it is not a leather bag.. Anyway, I’m sure there are many of you who will disagree with me on this one. Feel free to leave a comment in either case!

Prada “Nappa Folders Convertible Clutch”

Zoe is usually the one on the constant lookout for Prada bags and I was shocked to hear that she hasn’t planed to cover this one yet. Anyway, I’m sure she’ll agree with me 100% when I say it is simply gorgeous! It represents everything a girl can ever dream to have on her shoulder. The smashing combination of colors, coupled with the idea which Prada designers translated into this wonderful bag make me simply adore it. And the idea is to to have a bag which you can pull out of your closet occasionaly and carry it for completely casual events, but at the same time be able to grab it when you want your bag to get some attention going your way. It’s simply so versatile that it can work for almost any occasion. However, just because it can work for any occasion doesn’t mean that you will end up carrying it all the time. At first you might go crazy over it so you’ll probably spend hours in your wardrobe trying to put together various outfits which will work in perfect synergy with this bag, but that way you’ll probably get bored by it pretty soon… Don’t do that - it’s a perfect bag to have laying around for those moments when none of your favorites will do, it will save you in those occasions.

The “convertible” stands for the possibility of folding the top of the bag over, which reveals the pink interior turning this bag into a multicolor beauty which opens an opportunity for your playful side to stand out when you feel like it. The shoulder strap can be removed if you desire, but I really like the way it looks with it attached, It’s neither too long nor too short to stand in the way regardless of how you decide to carry the bag. The interior is fully lined, featured with one zip pocket and closed with zip top closure.

I know Zoe is going to add this one to her S/S favourites…

Marc by Marc Jacobs “Posh Turnlock Convertible Tote”

I came across this bag while I was searching for something perky, and even though this one doesn’t quite fit that criterion, I found it worth spending some time to post about it. Marc Jacobs is totally unpredictable, I mean, there’s no way you’ll ever be able to tell what he will come up with next. He has released so many products in various styles recently, but that’s still nothing in comparison to what’s yet to come from him, mark my words.

What I’m trying to say is that this is pretty much a very simple looking bag, too simple for something coming from the Marc Jacobs collection. Very simple would usually translate into Tina liking the bag very much, but this time Tina does not like it at all unfortunately. I’d rather go for a Quilted Colorblock Pochette, which I, by the way, dislike for many, many reasons. This one is so plain, I’d almost go so far as to label it a fug. It looks as if someone polished the life out of it trying to make the leather look decent and then half the way through the process they realized it leads nowhere and left it looking greasy. It’s a definite no-no, but that doesn’t neccesarily mean I don’t see anything good about it. I do like and the vintage feel that the gold twist lock closure and the way the flap top is implemented create. The point is, there is so much perfectly delicious arm candy created by Marc Jacobs out there that this one simply doesn’t stand a chance in my book. I would never try to convince you not to like it if you find it attractive, but I’d also never encourage you to buy it - if you like it, you like it, I just don’t.

Marc Jacobs Collection “Geometric Suede Pochette”

Since I’m posting about this one after I have already covered Rihanna Bag from the same MJ collection, I can leave out the basic info about this collection and proceed right to this bag, which, I predict, will be the ultimate clutch of the season, it simply has all it takes to make it. I’m really a big fan of big clutches. Take LV Limelight or Prada Pleated Clutch for example - spacious, practical and having that unique strong, yet feminine touch to them, I find them more alluring then the smaller clutches. I would even put the smaller and bigger ones in two different categories since they cause two different sensations and fit different moods and occasions. The smaller are almost always making us melt from cuteness, while the bigger ones cause a true stir of strong emotions. That’s just about the thing I’m experiencing while looking at this one. It looks so strong and powerful, I would even say it has a strong self esteem and will for sure help you find, lift and keep yours. (Bag with self esteem, emotions, hmm… As long as I’m not talking to my bags or buying them gifts, it’s all ok I guess )

It’s great that it was made as a fold over clutch, because that means there is enough space insode. The front flap is used to carry the key detail of the bag - the fade away effect implemented on crackled metallic leather turning into suede. As seen on the Rihanna Bag, front flap reveals an extra gusseted pocket which makes the bag look bigger and richer. Interior is fine textile lined, featured with two gusseted interior compartments making things easier when you are arranging your belongings inside.

All in all, if you are still thinking of how to accessorize your SS look and haven’t closed the bidding, take a look at this one and keep it in mind, you won’t go wrong with it and it will look as good a few years down the road as it does now.

Tod’s “Goa Pochette”

So what’s up with Tod’s these days? I mean, I might really end up buying one of their bags. Softy Shopping Tote Media got me worked up pretty bad, I spent a whole hour admiring it and ended up adding it to my wishlist. I’ve noticed this subtle turn towards more feminine designs on latest Tod’s bags but I held my excitment back because I didn’t want to get my hopes up too early, but enough is enough. It is time to start sharing the excitment with you even if that means saying things and feeling sensations I’ve never felt before… Talk about being poetical…

They are still holding on to their recognizable shape and style, it’s just that some details are more subtle, and those newly added ones are really feminine and gentle which is usually enugh to set every woman off, and don’t try to convince me otherwise.

Zoe, a genuine Prada freak, made me take a closer look at this kind of bags with her Prada Crispy Clutch post, which resulted in me changing my opinion about them which does not happen often. I’ve always somehow ignored bags of this type, thinking it was better to save the money for bigger, more luxurious and more expensive ones. That’s why I haven’t got any of these in my collection, and now I want to change that ASAP even if that means spending a lot more money and ending up being fed up with them. Learn from my experience, whenever you see a cute and affordable wristlet, if you like it take it home with you, you won’t be sorry. I’ll make it all up to myself, I promise

This pochette simply rocks! Smooth grained leather in a beautiful and rather rare color, which will be great for summer since it is a complementing contrast to almost every color. It could be a wrsitlet and it would also look great. Its charm is in the laid back, comfy note that subtly accents the innocent look which comes from the earlier mentioned color and the beautiful leather. It’s very versatile which is a definite plus. Key details are the rouching on each side and the horizontal folds on front and back, which are also signature details on recent styles. As for other details, you’ve got the metal tipped braided leather tassels and that’s about it. You can wear pretty much everything when you are carrying it… From floral or psyhodelic patterned dresses to casual combos… Get the idea?

Yeah, go and get it, I know I will…
