Mulberry “Latimer Shoulder Bag”

I am a die hard Mulberry fan, I really am… Mulberry played an enormous role in the process of me getting used to, and learning to love patent leather. I absolutely fell in love with the Mable bags from the first sight, then came the Soho bags, especially the Soho Ostrich which I posted about and predicted for it to be a huge hit. The next Mulberry design Zoe and I both went crazy over was Agyness… A beautifull, sumptuous and feminine bag made in a multitude of material and color combinations to fit every style imaginable. That’s why I am not happy to say that this bag is a total miss.

Even though the front buckle tickled my imagination at first, it alone couldn’t hide the fact this bag isn’t well proportined nor properly defined. To be honest it looks like something someone would make from leftover scraps after creating a huge bag. I get the simple bag idea, but this is just boring… It could never work. It has no charm and it’s not attractive at all. The shape is very strange, even though it doesn’t appear so at first sight. I don’t even have an idea about how this bag could ever work, so I guess it’s ok if I go ahead and say that it’s a complete miss… It would be much better if the designers took the original idea to a higher level by adding just a pinch of uniqueness, freshness, life… something… I bet the response would be much better… It’s not a bag you’ll be saving money for, drooling over or carrying until it falls apart and spontaneously recycles itself. Even if I bought it, I’d get bored soon. After two years I’d have forgotten I have ever bought it.

It has been quite some time since we last posted about a Mulberry bag, and this is a perfect oportunity to give this fashion house more attention on our site. Mulberry “Agyness”

The Agyness bag is introduced as the latest Mulberry style for the early SS08 season on Mulberry’s official website. This is no surprise after taking only a glance at this amazing and so versatile bag. Everything on this bag is in the right place, there are just enough details to give the bag the IT-factor and make it look as elegant as you could have wished for. This is why I will definitely be on the look out for Agyness this spring.

This tote shoulder bag comes in a number of different colors and materials. The ones I liked the most are rose Agyness, made out of soft goat leather and the mushroom Agyness made out of soft calf leather. Other than these, you can choose from snakeskin, chocolate soft calf and gunmetal soft goat leather versions. The bag is featured with chunky handles, flap closure with a gold postman’s lock and drawstring details, which I feel add life to this bag. The interior is divided into three compartments, one is zipped as a slip cell phone compartment.

Agyness comes in two different sizes, large and medium. I would personally go for the medium size version because it’s just the right size to perfectly suit multiple occasions. You can carry it to the office, when you are meeting a friend for a cup of coffee, or you could even take it on a night out because it is not too large and not too small for any of these activities. The only occasions I wouldn’t carry it for are high profiled events, but for those I would go with a clutch anyway. This is the versatility I mentioned earlier which makes me like this bag so much. On the other hand, if you go for the large version, it is probably best suitable for the daytime activities.

There is also another huge plus to this bag - you will be able to carry it for more than just this season because of it’s timeless design. All this being said, this is definately the bag you should keep in mind for your spring bag shopping.

Mulberry “Large Soho Ostrich”

I found some time to look up what the designers are planing for us in the next spring/summer season and this is what I found at Mulberry’s. I had a hard time finding any backup on this one, since it seems everyone is still too busy catching up with this season’s styles, so there’s no time to think so far ahead. I would like you to keep this one in mind when you are out looking for bags to carry throughout next year. Because it’s worth it. There’s no doubt this one will be your perfect match for many years to come, and if you’re concerned about wearability of this material, Mulberry thought about it too and made the same bag in soft leather… The shape is a Mulberry’s classic and also an all-time hit so that’s a plus.

I know what you’re thinking… The leather one is nice but nothing special, since we’ve seen this shape many times before… And that’s why this post is really about the ostrich one, because among all the bags introduced for “EARLY S/S SEASON” this one carries the whole line.
