Dior “Soft Lady Dior Avenue Woven Hobo”

Umm… So… This bag is a part of a new S/S seasonal Dior collection called Avenue. There are a few pieces available as a part of this collection, and this is one of them. I’ve heard people comment on this collection, saying that it didn’t end up among the hotter Dior collections because the bags resemble Bottega’s designs and because the designs are not “fresh”. Personaly, I like the whole collection despite the fact that there is something Bottega about them. The bags presented in the ad campaign were what really got me going and then I’ve seen the woven hobos which I loved even more. Thanks to the renowned designer house behind these bags, you don’t have to worry about these being a case of copy-paste design. The design does remind me of BV but still… I don’t think I would ever mistake one of these for one of their designs… If you look closer, the top of the bag and the handle have nothing that would make you think it’s a BV. Anyway, enough blabbing, let’s get back to the bag that made me write this post in the first place…

It’s made of smooth weaved lambskin which gives the bag that soft and slouchy look we can never get enough of - in the end, we are all just girls and girls need soft and slouchy bags I think it looks perfect for the upcoming summer and that it’ll last for many summer seasons to come. On the other hand, if you’re into this kind of bags, I guess you’ll probably be more open to spending a bit more money and going for a Bottega. Anyway…

Rolled handle of a 10.5″ drop is attached to the bags body with polished gold clasp attachments, which are also used to carry dangling Dior logo detail. Zip top closure reveales suede lining interior featured with zipped and a patch pocket. Yummy.

Fendi “Leather Chain Hobo”

Hmmm… It’s a Fendi… It’s a small hobo shaped shoulder bag… It’s made of soft nappa leather and detailed with a polished gold toned chain which also serves as shoulder strap… All in all, I must say I like it! This bag was designed to last and last and trust me, it’s not a type of bag you’ll get bored with easily. Cole Haan “Genevieve Gold Weave Hobo”

For all of you who like the way Bottega Veneta bags look but cannot or don’t want to spend a grand or more on one, and for those of you who like the style more then the name behind it, I have a perfect bag today. Genevieve is a is both simple and striking at the same time. Timeless shape, beautiful color and the weaves which create that intrigueing look make it a great accessory for anyone looking to add an unusual piece of arm candy to their collection. I must say that I haven’t seen any fugs coming Cole Haan for quite some time now. Most of their bags aren’t drop-dead gorgeous, but they definitely have an appeal. They are not too aggressive and overdone and that’s always a plus for me.

I really like how this beauty looks gorgeous in a very subtle and profound way, I’m telling you - people will mistake it for a Bottega. You’ll easily match it to almost any S/S outfit you can think of, and still feel comfortable because you’ll definitely get noticed but you won’t be the talk of the town. Genevieve is well proportioned and fits perfectly on the shoulder. The shoulder strap itself is woven and has a 8.5″ drop. Zip closed interior is logo jacquard lined, featured with cell and PDA pocket.

Bottega Veneta “Intrecciato Hobo Bag”

Before I noticed this cutie, I had my eyes on the Large intrecciato frame bag. The beautiful soft pastel color looked nothing short of fantastic and the bag itself seemed like a real find, but when I saw how it looked on a manakin, it suddenly lost all of it’s appeal. The shape and the looks are fine, but the size is the absolute deal breaker, it just looks too big. I was really dissapointed and about to close the browser and go do something else when I noticed this one, and before I could even take a better look, my creative bagddict juices started flowing again!

The Intrecciato Hobo comes in a pastel color simillar to the one I liked on the Large version, but in a much more agreeable size. I like the fact it is kind of slim at just 2” which gives it a more elegant look. The size is just perfect for a day bag. It is big enough to carry practically everything you might need throughout the day, but it does not look big and clumsy. I was pleasantly surprised by the sky blue suede interior which further emphasises the elegant look.

It has a detachable shoulder strap so it can be carried as a top handle or as s shoulder bag. You can also change the way it looks by pinning the sides to the rivets. This cutie has so many faces, you will never get bored with it. I just love it.

The top is featured with double zippers and double handles, and an interior zip pocket. The only downside is the price, but BV bags aren’t exactly the first choice when you are on a budget. It’s a BV, it’s beautiful and it’s practical, and it will look as good in 10 years as it does now, so the $3,540 price tag isn’t really that much of an issue as far as I am concerned.

Prada “Vitello Daino Mini Hobo”

I can already see this one getting sold out in in the blink of an eye, the metallic look is simply too hot to be true. It also comes in black, but that version is not nearly as attractive as this one. The shiny metallic platinum / cold color is a hit for this season, and I think it will continue to be for at least the next S/S season too. The shape, and the way it’s carried is nothing new, since it’s the usual Prada style, but this time it’s detailed with adjustable buckles on the shoulder strap which is great because you can comfortably carry it as a shoulder bag just as much as a top handle.

The more I look at this bag, the more I think it will be a huge hit for the next few seasons. This metallic look reappears every year around spring due to the summery feel of the golden metallic leather, which is great because you can take any A/W hobo in, let’s say, black redo it in the metallic color and you’ve got a S/S handbag. Am I right ir what?

Prada “Soft Calf Hobo”

Look what I have found in the Prada leather essentials section at NM! This is so cute and appealing that I will completely ignore the “white bags equals dirty bags” theory and share my new found love with you. I love it and I do not care if it’s white, I will not even think about it getting stained - it won’t get stained - it just won’t…. I’ll just keep telling that to myself! The black version doesn’t stand a chance against this one. If it was a shoulder bag, I would have loved it even more, but nevertheless, it’s simply gorgeous!

I just love the pleated front and the belt encircling the top, those two details go along divinely, giving the bag a more laid back feel - just the thing I need, considering the state of mind I was in today. This is a bag that will match a leather jacket just as well as your favorite trenchcoat even though I would probably ideally go for a blue jeans, white ruffled shirt and a black leather jacket kind of combination to make this beauty shine.

I just wish it was a shoulder bag.. That is the only thing I would change about it, nothing major, I would simply like a longer strap, that’s all. But anyway, this one is a gorgeous, not “in-your-face” bag that would be a long term investment, since it does not have any trendy details that would put it at risk of being forgotten about next season. We all need at least a couple of bags like this one, to accompany us in the tough times between the seasons, when we are waiting for the new goodies to show up.

Marc by Marc Jacobs “Dr. Q Colorblock Hillier Hobo Bag”

Tina has already covered the Dr. Q Hilier hobo, and I am merely updating her post with the new, spring Hillier look. Marc Jacos decided to give more life (read more color) to the beautiful Hillier…

In comparison to the brown leather Hillier, the Colorblock does not stand a chance. First of all, Colorblock is made of patent leather, and frankly, I am slowly getting sick of it.. It feels too heavy for spring, and especially for summer. Also, it is not just patent leather, it is crinkled patent leather which is only contributing to the heavy feel.. Me no like.. The shoulder strap on the blue version is a big no no for me, but on the pink one, it does lift the whole appearance of the bag.

I was not impressed by the color scheme either.. Eventhough blue is my favorite color, I have to say the bright blue shade doesn’t do it for me, and I am not too impressed with the pink one either. Not impressed does not mean I hate them, it really just boils down to the fact that I’d chose the original brown Hillier over one of these any day.

I will make this post strictly informative, since I have already written a post about the Warrior in which I expressed my feelings about it. I just wanted to let you know that it is available for online purchase at Nordstrom.com and to briefly cover the available versions. You can choose between the white, black and trench leather Warrior, and the large canvas Warriors which are available in the nova beige and nova trench. Both large canvas Warrior versions did not quite appeal to me, but I have to admit that the Warrior, in these plain colors, does not look as bad to me as it did when I was writing my original post about it. It still would not be my first choice, nor would it be on my wish list…

Diesel SS08 Nappa Hobo

Wow, this is an amazing bag. Remember in my post about Diesel Gall and how I said that I love Diesel? Well, after that I was seeing only the canvas bags from Diesel and honestly, I was starting to ask myself what is going on there? Where has all the good stuff gone? It just didn’t look like Diesel at all. They were plain, really nothing special. Seeing the SS08 items on Yoox.com really calmed me down, since there are some beautiful bags there. They are not all canvas, and those that are, look good. Not spectacular, but definitely good.

On the other hand, this one looks not just spectacular, but divine! A definite hit! The combination of nappa leather and shiny canvas is prefect just like the colors chosen for the bag. You can choose between 2 delicious color schemes - khaki leather and, what I would call, dark pink canvas and light brown leather and shiny yellow. Both are beautiful, and I really do not know which one to go for… Ah, choices, choices..

Anyway, the handle drop is quite big, so you can carry it on your shoulder. Let me give you a scoop on the features: external pocket, internal zip pocket, zip top closure and the signature Diesel dangling charms (I love them dearly;) ).

Of course this is not a bag you will carry with you to work (eventhough that depends on where you work), but it is an amazing bag for any day activity which does not require any seriousness, anything you do in your free time. Also, an additional plus is the really low price for this very chic hobo. I say go for it, without much thought!

Prada “Nappa Stripes Medium Hobo”

Zoe covered the Fairy Bag and Trembled Blossoms Bag a couple of days ago, and there’s almost nothing I could disagree with in her posts, but I have something to add. Let’s start with the Fairy bag. The leather used for this bag is gorgeous and high quality making this bag very durable and long lasting and for a damn good reason. If you liked the bag, get it now. Don’t think you’ll get away with buying it next year - it’s this season or never since this is a real collectors piece and judging by the buzz it has created, a lot of ladies will be after one. It is a hit this year, but the next year everyone will foget about it. But then, 3 or 5 years later, you’ll have nothing but amazed looks of admiration comming your way if you still have it. It isn’t made to be an usual, every day bag and this season you’ll be in the center of attention wherever you show up carrying it, but after this season it will fade away, just to reemerge a couple of years later and be a hit again. That’s how I feel about it, it is a real collectors piece and worth having in your collection.

Now about the Trembled Blossoms Bag. Imho, this is the ace up Prada’s sleeve. They released it early enough to give this collection enough time to grow on us since, let’s face it, there are women who dislike this style. The majority of reactions I’ve seen were more than positive (mine included), but it wouldn’t be fair we let it pass unsaid that this kind of bags don’t suit every taste.

But, my splurge of the day has everything to do with another Prada bag which is not so catchy as these two - Nappa Stripes Medium Hobo. They forgot to put “gorgeous” somewhere. Just look at this bag for a minute and try not to start shaking and drooling. It’s almost impossible. I mean, you’ve got to be really immune to beauty to keep this bag out of your mind or away from your hands. It represents true handbag beauty and glory. This gorgeous color, which is a total hit for a reason, and its stitched stripes detailing and emphasizing the very well proportioned shape and structure of the bag and the wide shoulder strap will satisfy all your cravings.

As for the gold toned hardware, it is used just in the amount neccessary to give the bag that extra touch, and it complements the color perfectly. The open top is partialy closed with a magnetic snap closure and reveals the fully lined interior featured with a zip pocket. The sane person in me says it is pretty expensive, but the bagddict in me somehow just can’t accept that. Currently I’m in such a state of mind that I’d probably find an excuse even if it was three times as expenive. I’m really losing it…

Anyway, having said all this, my mind is comletely empty. It’s like I’m hypnotized, so I better end this post and let you enjoy the bag.
