Gucci “Pop Bamboo Medium Top Handle”

I’ve had a discussion about ostrich bags with my mother (who is just as much of a bagddict as I am) just yesterday and that was what made me write about this bag today. The conversation took off after my mom mentioned the Victoria Beckhams purple ostrich Birkin bag she’s been seen toting around, and no matter how big of an exotic and Hermes fan my mom is, she says she finds that bag repulsive. I can’t agree. I absolutely love the bag and I love the ostrich leather.

This Gucci beauty is everything but ordinary. The material, the bag itself and of course the price tag… Do we really need to comment on those? The shape and the size of the bag are nothing new. If you don’t like it because of that I can totally understand you, but if you like the style and the fact it’s an exotic ostrich, there’s no doubt you’re already drooling over it ;).

As a true bagddict, I must say that Pop Bamboo is a very nice bag which has left it’s mark from the very first time it was released. At this price however, many of you would probably turn to Hermes or Bottega rather than Gucci. This bag hasn’t got that “it factor” that will put the roof on fire wherever you show up with it, and that’s it’s biggest problem in my opinion. An exotic handbag as expensive as this one is has to justify its price, it has to be on top of the game and everything, really everything about it has to be more than extraordinary. With this one you will be recognized as an insider and all, but still it won’t make a true impact.

All in all, in it’s essence, I do like it… But still, this time, the grass IS greener on the other side…

Gucci “Hysteria Medium Top Handle Bag”

I’ve already stated my passion for the Gucci Hysteria line in my post about the colorful Hysteria clutches, they have that special, unique appeal which makes me go crazy whenever I lay my eyes on one of them. I just remembered that I saw this cutie when we covered the Gucci Hysteria clutch (which both Tina and I really loved), and I realized that I forgot to cover it! I think it’s about time I finally did it. I found it in this fabulous shade of yellow leather only at Gucci.com. There are the patent versions available as well, but I do not feel like patent leather so much anymore.. If I really like the bag, or the patent is used as an accent, I will overlook it, but when I have an option to go for the non patent version, the choice is clear as far as I’m concerned.

I also didn’t particularly like the black and white versions - the white one for the obvious reason (white leather handles, a big nono) and the circular metal logo on the black one was a bit too much for my taste. I had to take my pick between the dark yellow and the pink one, and since I have already shared how I feel about the dark yellow color in my Gucci D Gold large shoulder bag post, the pink version didn’t stand a chance.

Ok, having said all that, let me finally focus on this cutie. It is a bag you will be very happy with this spring, and I believe you will be able to carry it in the upcomming years as well, without it losing any of its appeal. What I really liked about it was the shape, if you take a closer look you will notice how it actually looks like a small pyramid - pure eye candy. This Hysteria bag is featured with a zip top closure (always welcome) and multiple interior pockets. The pleated leather on the front and the side ties are giving it a more laid back look, perfect for a day bag.

I would carry this one with me everywhere and beyond.. ;D

Gucci “Hysteria Clutches” - More Colors

Patent has been the hottest material of the AW collections, which is only natural since patent is a winter material. Tina has already done a post about the patent version of Hysteria Clutch and I completely agree with Tina on this one - patent, especially black patent, is definitely a type of material that screams WINTER!!! But there is one thing I can’t agree with her about - I think this IS a clutch you WILL go crazy for, I just find it adorable!

What I wanted to do in this post, is show you more color variations, which might make a difference if you dislike the idea of carrying around a patent clutch in those hot, moist summer days, I know how much I am repulsed by that idea… All other versions however, are in plain leather, no patent in sight. You can choose from the following colors and materials: black, pink, dark yellow, off white and gunmetal leather, black python leather and multicolored versions which also carry the two main colors of the Gucci SS collection - pink and yellow. I have to stress out that some of these versions do feature some patent leather - in the pink version you will find black patent parts, and in the yellow one there are some white patent leather parts. But, that is something you could live with, in comparison to the clutch made soley out of patent leather. The dark yellow and black versions caught my attention, but if I was about to buy one of these, I think my choice would be the yellow one since it is easy to combine with clothes and it looks more lively to me.

Gucci White GG Logo Print Collection

The Hysteria line is, as I said yesterday in one of my News posts, the Gucci line everybody will be buzzing about this spring, and I am sure summer as well, but there is another adittion to the Gucci product line. As a part of the spring collection, Gucci has introduced the white logo print in the well known Joy line. I have to admit, I never liked that particular line as much as I never liked the GG logo print. Both Tina and I were dissapointed in Gucci when we saw the Joy Medium Boston. We were not dissapointed indefinitely, nor were we dissapointed in Gucci alltogether, but it did hit a spot we never thought Gucci could. The Hysteria line made it all better though.

So, even though I have stated my opinion on the GG logo print and the Joy line, I will stay indiferent in this post because I know many many ladies just love it. The Joy line, the more serious part of it, is introduced with large totes, large hobo, medium and small boston bags and the medium tote with double straps in a white GG logo print. The bag that originally caught my attention was that same Medium Boston bag that was the dissapointment, but the thing that caught my attention was not the bag itself, but the detailing. I still feel the same way about the bag as I did before. The embroided black and white flowers make this bag interesting, and for just one second it can distract you from the very familiar shape. And Gucci did its best to bring the bag to a higher level by detailing it with black crocodile trim, which combined with the flower embroidery sent the price soaring up to almost four times the price of the original bag.

The white GG logoprint is combined with the black, yellow and platinum leather trimmings, which is also a novelty. The pink leather trimmings, as the second dominating color in the Gucci spring collection, are available only in the beige/ebony logo print versions. The thing that keeps worrying me about these bags, since they are all white, that they will easily get stained. The slightest mistake and it’s your dollars down the drain. Even if I liked the Joy line I do not think I would consider buying any of them.

Gucci “Hysteria Medium Top Handle Bag”

See this one? Do you see my name written all over it? No? That’s strange because I see it. I see a big name tag on it and that name tag says Tina. This is the typical bag I would lose my sanity over. It’s not the fact that it’s a Gucci, it’s not the leather, it’s the shape. The shape is just adorable. I don’t know what it is about me and these kinds of shapes but I am almost always left speachless. And whenever I’m to post about a bag which looks like this one, I find it hard to express my impressions. And my impressions are overwhelming…

But… And there is always some kind of but hidden somewhere… I can honestly say I won’t buy this one, nor I will say this is a must-have bag which you have to buy. No, no… It’s not about that. It’s about the shape, it’s almost always about the shape for me. Some shapes are more alluring than the others and there’s no escaping it. You have all been in different situations in which you felt something dragging you towards a bag but you couldn’t explain just what it was and I am sure that, when it comes to handbags, the shape is that inexplicable “thing”. But before I get caught up in that too much I’ll get back to the bag.

This one is also made in black patent leather but I like the gun metal one better. It’s too big to be in black so the gun metal color fits this shape better. Along with the double top handles it also has a detachable shoulder strap, which I think is a bit useless because this bag doesn’t look good carried like that. It’s a great as a top handle or carried on the crock of your elbow so stick to that. Interior is featured with zip, cell and PDA pocket and closed with a magnetic snap closure.

Gucci Hysteria Clutch

This is a very insinuating name for a bag if I may say. Hysteria is the name for the latest releases by Gucci, and judging from the way these bags look, they really might cause a bit of hysteria among women around the world. Not the kind of hysteria that would make the Earth turn upside-down, but enough to make a lot of us change our shopping plans… And I know you already have plans

Do you remember the Papillon Evening Bags I posted about back in November, and how glad I was to see them looking so nice, girly and feminine? Well, I like this one the same, even though it’s not that girly and feminine as the Papillon ones are. Hysteria Clutch is a nice, big and spacious clutch which will make it’s way under many arms and isn’t that just nice?! Gucci decided to go for patent leather with this one, which is kind of strange if you ask me because of the upcoming season, I’m not sure if the patent leather is the best for spring/summer… It’s a bit to heavy when it comes to a clutch as big as this one. I’m more of a winter-patent type of bagddict so let’s say that’s the only thing standing between me and this one. It just doesn’t fit my vision of a handbag suitable for S/S, but nevertheless, I like it, I like everything there is to like about it, even that patent leather. It’s not one of those bags you’ll go crazy over, but it’s ok to say it is rather eye-catching and afordable which makes it pretty desirable.

Besides the golden Gucci medallion the only details are the side ties. The interior is featured with pocket and closed with zip top closure.

Gucci “D Gold Large Shoulder Bag”

Eventhough Gucci’s cruise collection includes a lot of bags that I personally think are overdone, there are some fabulous bags that do not have as much detail, but the shape and those few crucial details catapult them straight into the “must have” category. That is the case with this particular bag.

There are two things I really liked about this bag. First are the fine, elegant lines that give this bag a beautiful shape. As Tina always says, the shape is one of the most, if not the most important, features that the designers have to get right, otherwise, the bag will not be as successful. The second thing that I found most appealing was the dark yellow color. Like black, this color is very versatile. If you choose to wear a black or grey outfit, this bag will lift your whole appearance, if you combine it with purple or turquoise, you will achieve a playful look.

The D Gold leather shoulder bag is featured with light gold hardware, push lock closure, double straps, bottom feet, zip and cellphone pockets and a small scrpit logo on the front which is not too noticable but it still fits in the whole concept great.

This delicious dark yellow leather version of this bag is available only through Gucci official website. There are also black patent leather, brown leather, black python with leather trim and sand/ebony GG fabric with light gold leather trim versions. The last version mentioned I didn’t particularly like, because next to the dark yellow, sand version it looks quite cheap and much less stlyish. The black and brown versions are also nice, but the I do not like them half as much as I like, cough, let me rephrase this, love the dark yellow leather D Gold!

Gucci “Wave Large Hobo Black”

What was I saying when I posted about D&G Karen Satchel? I told you it wouldn’t last long no matter how much I liked it. I would still rather buy D&G than this one, but then again, I couldn’t resist it. It’s funny how no matter how beautiful, colorful, visionary a bag is, a simple black bag always beats it.

I know I did a post about a similar bag, Burberry Malika, and almost everything I said about that one also works for this one. Choosing between these two, I would rather go for Malika, but let’s not get caught up in memories, enough comparing.

This is a simple all-time handbag which presents that other, classy side of Gucci that we all love and are always glad to see. Slightly grained leather, especially in black, always turns out to be a very thankful material for making a day-time bag. This bag will fit with almost everything. It is ornamented with studs and golden hardware and the interior is featured with an inside zip and mobile phone pocket.

Gucci listed it as a classic, and I’m posting about it now because it also made it to Neiman Marcus’s list - a list of designer gift ideas. I know it’s price doesn’t allow many of us to buy this as a gift for someone but still… I couldn’t resist it…

Gucci “Joy Medium Boston Bag”

Joy Medium Boston Bag with double handles, zip-top closure, inside pocket; SIZjdbvjbsv,bxc… Sorry, I can’t do this… You all, probably, can make out the impresion this bag left on me by the way I’m starting my post. And no, I’m not angry, I’m sad… Yes. Sad. It’s not the first time I see a duplicate or a replica, call it whatever you like, but this time and this one left me with an unpleasant sensation taking over my body, mind and soul. I can be even more dramatic if I want to… You’ll see…

Maybe it’s the weather, maybe I’m hungry and tired, or maybe it’s Gucci looking like Louis Vuitton. As a Gucci fan, you can imagine I don’t feel happy writing a negative post. But it’s not about me being happy or not here, it’s about me sharing something with you… And you with me… So let’s share…

Gucci “Papillon Evening Bag”

After Gucci came up with “Aviatrix” Boston bags I wasn’t sure what direction it was going in, because it was evident from the start that the response won’t be as it was to “Indy” bags.
