Furla “Elisabeth Croc Embossed Hobo”

Furla Elisabeth Croc Embossed Hobo

I am trying to start this post but I’m having a hard time doing so. I do not know why, but this bag is NOT inspiring me to write. Not the tiniest bit. This is kind of weird since it has everything in place. The color is lovely, it really is, and I definitely fell for it. The shape of the bag is great as well - you can’t go wrong with the hobo shape in any case, but this particular shape is really alluring. Another plus would definitely be the croc embossed leather if I was an exotics fan, which I am not - just trying to give you a bigger picture of what I am saying here - eventhough this bag has everything it takes, it just lacks that secret gotta-have-it-now impulse causing factor.

I feel really funny to be honest, I am trying to pin down what it is that this bag is lacking. It looks a bit plain, which is surprising because it is made of exotic leather and comes in a vibrant color, which should give it a bit of life. But sadly, it doesn’t, at least it didn’t set off any sparks in my case… OMG, this is really silly, I cannot write one bad thing about it but I can’t say I love it either. The only thing I can say that I do not like is the detachtble shoulder strap - key word being detachable, so it doesn’t really get into the way in your purchase decision making process. But it really is ugly… And definitely NOT the kind of strap you would in a milion years imagine someone pairing with an exotic bag…

Furla Elisabeth Croc Embossed HoboThe good news is that it is available in other colors, aside from this one, and it looks much better in the honey version because the color is more catchy. See, I love this shade of purple, and I honestly can’t believe this bag looks dead in that color. The honey version looks more lively and more intriguing.

It is spacious, and I mean SPACIOUS, has a magnetic snap closure, two interior pockets, cell and zip ones. There is practically no hardware on it, which is greatly contributing to the plain feel. If they used more of it, I bet my review would be much more on the positive side - as long as the hardware wouldn’t be golden…

Ok, back to hobo bags. I think it’s time to start paying more attention to spring/summer-ish bags. It’s not the bag style that is the most important when talking about them, but the color. Which ever style you go for, the color has to be light, fresh and fun. Whether it is a simple bag, or a detailed pattern one, the color has to be matching the style, and the occasions the bag is meant for. I know this bag fits the autumn outfits as well, but something about the soft leather in this color just screams spring…

The hobo shape of this bag is a kind of a guarantee that it’s spacious inside, and more than practical with its shoulder strap, which allows you to wear it as a messenger bag as well. The shoulder strap is adjustable from 14″ to 16″ which is great, because many times when you are walking around town, carrying a bag on your shoulder, you would give anything just to be able to put it across your body so you can continue your walk more relaxed and unburdened. Conveniently, the interior is fully lined and featured with an inside pocket so you can organize your stuff more easily.
