Chloe “Sue Patent Leather Bag”

And once again it’s Chloe… Their bags are definitely stealing the show this season, and I am very glad because of that. I’ve seen many new Chloe bags recently, and they definitely seem to be making sure they have every corner of the market covered. Whether we’re talking about a day in the city, an evening out with your girls or an easy walk in the park, Chloe designers sure seem to be making sure there is a Chloe bag for the occassion. I’ve shared my feelings about the Chloe Odessa with you recently, and now I want to do the same thing with this one.

The Sue is (another) white bag with a front, gold toned metal plate hidding a magnetic snap closure underneath it. The bag is made of patent leather, and as much as Zoe keeps venting about how she is fed up with patent, I must say I think that white patent leather bag is a perfect way to freshen up your summer look. Despite the fact that we have seen what was probably too much of patent throughout the year, somehow it always manages to shine in a new and totally disarming way. As expected, the S/S collections brought us brighter colors, and the color that seems to be stealing the show is definitely white. There are patent bags in other colors, but this season it’s all about white, white and more white, so it’s only logical that we are seeing more white patent bags than ever before.

Anyway, back to this bag. One thing that surprised me slightly is the shoulder strap, which is pretty thick. Summer shoulder bags are usualy made with a thin and gentle shoulder strap, but the designers over at Chloe decided to go for a thicker, wider strap and I must say I like that! Thin patent leather shoulder straps look kind of cheap, and not in a cheap&chic kind of way, which is not something I like on bag. The shoulder strap on the Sue bag is however a beautiful detail itself and lifts the whole bag up a notch. Seeing a flap top on a Chloe means only one thing - the flap trend alive and kicking and we will be seeing more of it in the days to come. The front of the bag is detailed with two patch pockets and there is another one inside the bag. Tina likes!

Chloe “Saskia Patchwork Pouchette”

I have to admit that I found the other bags from the Saskia line utterly unattractive. The oversized flaps on the front pockets give them a certain unproportional feel which simply doesn’t feel right. On the other hand, this Saskia pouchette caught my attention from the beginning. I have been eyeing it for a while, and the more I looked at it, the more it I grew to like it. At first, I thought it was refreshing but not something you’d see me carrying, but having caught myself opening its page on NAP couple of times in the past few days, I can definitely say I would like to have it in my collection.

The flaps on this Saskia pouchette are meant to bring a little bit of chaos into the mix, because it is a bag that has playful written all over it. The colors are vibrant, the pastel shades work together perfectly, and the whole bag has a soothing, playful vibe to it. This is what I particularly like about it, it is fun and energetic but not overdone. A very good job, Chloe, very very tempting

Let me cover all the important features: fully lined interior, magnetic closure, interior zip pocket, logo plaque and the buckle details. This pochette will hold all your essentials, it has a pocket for the important stuff or stuff you would like to be at your reach, and a secured top.

All in all, I really love it, I love the wild color scheme which is combined with a very ordinary shape. I would definitely carry this cutie everywhere with me for both day and night time activities. This is just how versatile this clutch is - a perfect spring investment!

Bulga “Foldover Buckle Tote”

This is not something I would usually pick out, but I’m not feeling usual myself today so let’s do it. I can’t believe that I actually like this oddly shaped, yet still simple bag. I have to give it to designers over at Bulga, because it’s not easy to make a strange bag look simple which is the case with this one. The only thing that really stands out on this bag is it’s shape which is everything but ordinary. When was the last time you saw a bag looking like this? I thought so…

I have a feeling I wouldn’t like as much if it was… umm… red for example. It’s too big and too weird looking to be able to carry a bold color, the color it comes in suits it perfectly, creating a contrast between the unusual, rather bold shape and a neutral color. Maybe I’m too conservative when it comes to bag shapes, but that’s just the way it is.

You may not agree with me on this one, but still, I have my imagine-me-and-you process going on in my mind right now and I can see this bag working with various outfits. Anyway… This pebbled leather handbag has a patch pocket and a flap belt with a turn lock closure on the front. Fully lined interior is featured with one zip and two patch pockets. The shape might be strange, but the bag as a whole is definitely unique and chic enough for my stamp of approval. Zoe is breathing down my neck waiting for me to say something negative about it, which I won’t do. She can write her own post about it if she dislikes it that much… Yes, you read that right, Zoe…

Kooba “Josie Clutch”

I have been eyeing this cutie for the past couple of days. It didn’t stirke me as something extra special to be honest, and since I usually prioritize the bags I am going to post about based on how much I genuinely like them, this one hasn’t been on the top of my list. Having realized just a moment ago that Bluefly has it in stock at a really good price made me push it up the list and write about it today because of the more than generous discount Bluefly usualy offers compared to usual retail prices (40% off in this case). You do the math..

So, Josie is a refreshing combination of pleated linen and shiny gold leather which translates into a perfect summer clutch. The flap, wrist strap, belt and the trim are made of leather and the rest of the bag is crafted out of linen. If you are not a linen fan, there is a version in pink leather, which I would personally go for (it looks much classier in my humble opinion).

Josie has two sepparate compartments, both featured with a zip top closure which is something I didn’t actually notice untill now. This really had a positive effect on how much I like it. It is very practical if you think about it.. At first you might think it is pointless to make a small bag like this with dual compartments, but it is really highly practical. I own a bag with two compartments, and all my important things, such as my wallet, cell and keys, are in one compartment, and all other things are in the other one which really saves me from a lot of headaches I would otherwise have.

Along with the zip top closures on both compartments, the clutch is featured with a double magnet flap closure for extra security. Both compartments are featured with patch pockets and twill lining. The glod toned studs on the belt are also unique, they actually look like small gems, and a small change like this can do so much to improve the overall impression a bag leaves on me.

I am sincerely sorry for not covering this one earlied. You really do not want to miss on this one - a practical, very cute clutch for less than two hundred bucks - perfect if you ask me.

Antik Batik “Juddy Fringed Bag”

This is what a fringed bag should look like. Everything about it looks and feels just right and I’m going to enjoy every single moment of writing about it. It’s not too big, but still big enough to look beautiful with the fringe details on the simple leather body. I don’t like bags that have the whole body fringed - fringes should be an extra detail on the bag and only in that case they work their magic as far as I’m concerned. Then comes the flap detail which goes perfectly with the cross body style of this bag because it gives the bag a comfy and laid back look which I just adore. It’s wearabilty is unquestionable, whether we’re talking about a night out or a casual Sunday get together. The gold toned charm gives the bag an extra playful note which is ok, even though you might have to think twice with the jewelry so you don’t overdo it. The bag is made of colored leather and the long shoulder strap is braided. Interior is featured with one zip pocket and secured with magnetic snap closure.

Seeing me write about Antik Batik might come as a surprise to those of you who are familliar with my obsession with LV and other premier brands, but this one really got to me and I had to share!

Miu Miu “Framed Fold Over Clutch”

Having covered the Miu Miu Nappa Mini Hobo and the Small Shoulder Bag, I think it is fair we make some room for this one as well. I purposely put this one in the same context with latter two bags because of the same type of nappa leather and the colors the bag comes in. We started with a small golden top handle hobo, moved on to a small turquoise shoulder bag and now we have this vibrating pink clutch. I’ve already stated my opinion about the nappa leather used on these three bags - it is so soft and gentle I wouldn’t mind having my pillow made of it - it’s totally delicious.

This bag attracted me with this bold pink color at first, but seeing the one in green made me think twice. I honestly don’t know which I like better. The pink one is vivacious and playful, but the subtle and calming note the green one has works even better for me. It’s not even an everyday green tone, it’s a very nice dimmed shade of green which looks just beautiful in contrast to the polished gold toned hardware and the interesting push lock closure placed on the front gold frame.

Perfect for the spring season, I really like it!

Dior “Jazzclub Clutch”

I have already stated my opinion on the Jazzclub collection when I was writing the original Jazzclub post. The thing that made me not like it that much was the chain shoulder strap. There are some good news about the Jazzclub clutch though - the chain is smaller for starters *chuckle* and - it can be removed! Buh bye chain strap, you won’t be missed! I really do not like the strap and seeing a picture of this clutch without it made me really happy. I am definitely not head over heels with this one, but seeing it with the chain gone makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

The shape is very alluring, and while I really like it, it’s been done before. It seems as if the designers over at Dior decided to take the maximum out of this shape, or are simply running out of clutch ideas, I cannot really tell.

The Jazzclub clutch is made of aged lambskin combined with the polished silver metal hardware. It has a flat flap and pintucked gathers on the bottom. Other features include suede lining, an interior zip pocket and a flap top with a magnetic closure. It is far from a fug, but it is nothing spectacular either. There are so many fabulous clutches out there (especially oversized ones) that something as average looking as this one simply doesn’t stand a chance, especially with this price tag. I am sure there are many of you who are head over heels with this one though, and I’m not trying to say you shouldn’t be. If we all liked the same bags, where would the fun be?

Marc Jacobs Collection “Fergie Clutch”

This is spring trends screaming right at you! Made in vibrant yellow, this oversized patent clutch has been on my mind for some time now, but I didn’t get a chance to write about it till today. It kept slipping my mind I guess. This is obviously the day to cover all the bags I have noticed, liked, but somehow neglected when I was writing my daily posts.

I guess I was “avoiding” writing about this one because it is deffinitely out of the ordinary. It did like it, but it is not the kind of bag you will be able to carry everywhere with you, and I have been focused on versatile bags lately (remember how I was saying how I would carry the bag I was posting about everywhere over and over again in my recent posts?). However, I am in the mood for some edgy stuff today as well. From one extreme (the simple laid back look Bottega casual Drop bag) to the other (the vivid, edgy Fergie clutch).

I am overlooking the patent leather in this case because this clutch is too wild for me, so I am not even considering buying it, yet I still find it too much out of the ordinary to let it pass unnoticed. That is what I love about it, that wild touch it has to it. I can imagine it blending perfectly into the Japanese street fashion kind of outfits. Marc Jacobs should be shipping tons of these there, I’m sure they would sell like hot cakes.

Fergie is a fold over clutch, so the fold over trend is obviously here to stay (I have also seen it in the Bottega Veneta 2008 AW season fashion show, and in many other upcoming collections from various designer houses as well). The ornate acrylic studs on the bottom of the flap are what gives this clutch the wild look. It is also available in black, but I kind of do not feel like black patent leather anymore… If it was a winter clutch, sure, why not, but black patent is something I simply cannot stomach for SS. I would have to be crazy, head over heels in love with a black SS bag to overlook the patent leather (that being said, I am sure I will bump into one I’ll fall for in the next couple of days )

Oscar de la Renta “Doheny Oversized Clutch”

This is a perfect example of a SS patent leather bag which I have absolutely nothing against. Doheny clutch looks deliciusly summery, mostly due to the fact that it is white. So, since we are talking white bags here, patent is more than welcome. If it wasn’t made out of patent leather I probably wouldn’t bother giving it a second look. Would you really like to buy a bag, a completely white bag, and end up stashing it somewhere deep in the bottom of your closet after the first time you carried it with you because it got stained? I do not think so…

Anyways, I love this one. Being an oversized clutch, it is perfect for both day and night and you can be sure that all your essentials will fit inside. I know that I always had a lack of space problem with my standard sized clutches. It was impossible to carry my wallet with me, so I was always on keeping my eyes on my cash and credit cards, and eventhough I was not carrying a wallet inside, I still didn’t have enough space. All I could stash in them was my cell, some money and lip gloss - that was about it. But the oversized clutch trend is solving any space problems instantly, which is why I love these so much.

The Doheny clutch is made of crinkled patent leather, features a “double closure” - both magnetic flap and a zipper on the top. It is fully lined with an interiror zip pocket. The proportions and the flap are making this bag look very chic, and also very versatile. I can imagine myself carrying it with a pair of jeans and pumps, looking equally beautiful as it would combined with a dress for more formal occasions.

To round it up, a very desirable spring/summer accessory. Yummy
