Fendi “Forever Pochette Clutch”

After the 10th anniversary of the Baguette, and after we had been bombed with a ton of different revamps and redesigns of the Baguette and the To You clutch, I am more than glad to see something like this. Talk about going from one extreme to another. That’s something we’re used to when we’re talking about Fendi though. It’s what made the label famous and if that’s the outset then it’s all good. But nevertheless, it’s ok to put your foot down from time to time and create something that will be awesome but won’t make everyone talk about it.

Here we have a perfect evening clutch, made to carry you through various special occassions be it weddings or coctail parties. I wouldn’t suggest carrying it on a “regular” night out, not only because it’s made of satin, but also because it has that sophisticated and classy touch to it. Two logo detailed snaps are the only thing distinguishing the bag and are also a nice detail since they are rather small and implemented in an unintrusive and elegant fashion. The interior features one divider and an open back pocket. Simple, elegant and not too expensive. I’ll bite!

Carlos Falchi “Fold Over Clutch”

You want an exotic? Here’s an exotic. THE exotic. Carlos Falchi does such a wonderful job making them soooo beautiful that I think some day he might even convert those of you who aren’t exotic fans to exoticoholics. Celebrities love his bags and other renowned designers respect his work. Simple but still catchy and recognizable, you must agree that his vision and work is among the most sought-after recently. He recognized implementing exotic skin on simple shaped bags as a ticket for the high class market, and he has no intention to change his course, which makes me very glad and thankfull.

The first thing I have to say about this one is that it is currently on sale, so the usual, low price is now even lower… Now I can devote the rest of the post to the bag itself… Made of exotic anaconda skin, treated in a way that has given it a metallic bronze color, it’ll fit almost every spring/summer outfit you can think of. With a drop-in shoulder strap you can even pull off a laid back style, which would be questionable if it was a hand-held only clutch. The interior is secured with a magnetic closed flap, fully lined with one zip pocket big enough for placing more than a credit card in it.

Leiber “Ritz Fizz Pave Clutch”

This is wonderful. I have been bumping into really beautiful bags recently, many of which enchanted me from the first glance: there was the chic Diesel hobo in a delicous leather/shiny canvas combination, the uber feminine Prada Cipria Gauffre tote, the Trembled Blossoms bag, also from Prada and the Tod’s Goa pochette that Tina bumped into a few days ago. I have just written a post about Orla Kiely’s new spring arrival - the Flower Box Print shoulder bag, which I was also very delighted with, but all these bags I mentioned are casual, day time bags, and this one is the pure opposite. I kind of missed writing about serious looking, sophisticated type of bags and this is why I decided to go for this one today.

This is not the kind of clutch you will be taking with you when you are going out clubbing, if you do not take the price into account, you really do not want to ruin a clutch like this. It would be more appropriate for a dinner a nice restaurant with your friends, a high profile event of some kind or something along those lines. I think you will have plenty of opportunities to shine with this one (of course, it does depend on the kind of lifestyle you are pursuing), but it definitely isn’t something you will be able to carry for any kind of occasion.

This clutch is meticuolusly handcrafted, every crystal being hand glued to it, thus the comment about not wanting to risk it getting ruined when you are out partying. The flap is featured with a magnetic closure, so you can be sure this clutch will keep it’s shape once you have it in your hands. It is featured with a 22,5″ long silver toned shoulder strap, giving you the option to carry it on your shoulder if you want, which is quite useful since it makes it more appropriate for ocassions which don’t fall into the high-profile category. I like it when designers give you options like these - you might never actually carry it on your shoulder, but simply knowing that you can is nice. What originally drew my attention to it were the beautiful different sized crystal bits that cover Ritz Fizz Pave, giving this clutch a playful feel and making it less “serious” looking than the original Ritz Fizz one. I really liked it!

Kooba “Taryn Clutch”

The Taryn clutch reminded me of another new release from Kooba, the Bennie clutch, which I didn’t quite like. I mean, Bennie has a perfectly fine shape, but I couldn’t get over the colorful stripes, they just didn’t fit. I know it could look good, but it is just a bit over the top for me. On the other hand though, the Taryn clutch is just lovely. This is not a clutch you will be carrying on a Sunday morning, looking for a free spot at your fav caffe, nor will you be carrying it on any other day… during the day. But for a Friday night out - perfect! Glittery, yet not “in-your-face-screaming-for-attention”, the Taryn will lift both your outfit and your mood.

The sole idea of having a clutch covered in small mirror squares would not have played off well if it weren’t for the flap. It would look nice, but nothing special, definitely not special enough to make it to my “will-write-’bout-that” list. I have seen clutches covered in squares like these, and if they weren’t featured with another eye catching detail, the squares would leave quite an impression but the whole thing would end up looking unfinished. Luckily, the Taryn didn’t fall victim to this syndrome.

Inside Taryn you will find a zipped pocket, something I always look for in a clutch, a giant plus in my calculations. Other features include a magnetic closure and a logo plate on the back side of the clutch. I like it.

Louis Vuitton “Sunset Boulevard”

Louis Vuitton has come up with a perfect solution for every occasion that requires a small purse. I know how I feel when I’m going out and want to carry one of my smaller handbags, the ones in which my wallet just doesn’t fit. Since my wallet is quite big, it doesn’t fit inside any of the small purses I have and I have carry my credit cards and cash in the bag which makes me feel uneasy about the their safety. Not that I fear someone might steal my credit cards, but the fact that they are lying loose in my purse and could get lost if I am not cautious enough when I’m, let’s say, looking for my cell phone, drives me crazy and I end up checking if they are in my purse every 10 minutes. The Sunset Boulevard is a perfect bag for such situations due to its convienient credit card and pocket change compartments.

Other than being highly practical, this purse looks just fabulous! I fell in love with it the first time I saw it, and I know it will be very hard for me not to impulsively buy it after I have finished with my post. Sunset Boulevard is a part of the Vernis collection, which I personally find quite interesting. I will get back to this collection in one of the upcoming posts as the Vernis agendas really got me hooked. Anyway, the Sunset Boulevard purse is available in three colors: pearl, amarante and pomme d’amour. My favourite is definately amarante, I do not quite like the pearl and pomme d’amour is a bit too intense for me.

On to some more serious specifications. Sunset Boulevard is made of embossed patent leather, features golden brass hardware, a flap top with a Louis Vuitton logo on the front and a press stud closure and calf leather trimming. The interior, which is in textile and calf leather lining, is featured with 6 credit card slips and a zip pocket for small change.

This bag can be carried on the shoulder or it can be hand held and I bet it looks fabulous either way! Ooh, I want this under my Christmas tree so badly!!!

D&G Dolce & Gabbana “Satin Evening Bag”

Ok, so it’s like this - usually if I’m considering buying an evening bag, I’m going for clutches. A clutch always gives that special extra touch to every outfit, whether it’s an evening dress or a shirt and a pair of trousers. I have never posted about evening bags, nor I am especially into them. And even clutches, I don’t consider them evening bags, more like every-day bags which can be carried as evening bags if they fit the criteria. That’s just my point of view, but never mind.

It’s made of satin with polished gold metal hardware, has an adjustable leather shoulder strap, nicely shaped and all in all, very cute bag. But there’s something holding me back from it and I think it’s because it is made to be carried on a shoulder, and somehow the design doesn’t fit. I can see it looking like this and being a clutch, but looking like this and being a small, evening bag carried on a shoulder. I don’t think so. At first glance I liked it, but something was so disturbing that it took me about half an hour to get my impressions in order. I looked, and looked, and couldn’t figure out what’s the problem… And then it hit me. It’s the shoulder strap, and the fact it’s made to be carried on a shoulder.

There’s no way this bag, or any similar could ever be as stunning as a clutch.

Dior “Lady Dior Pochette”

Today I wanted to write a post about an evening bag, but not a bag you would carry to some high profile event, but a bag you would carry on a night out with your girls. It took me quite some time to find this one in the sea of oversized everything and, present everywhere, clutches. I really do not feel like too much details today, I feel more like a simple, but still special, purse and this is my pick.

This Pochette is a part of the Lady Dior collection, looking very stylish and minimalistic. I just love it! It is made of lambskin decorated with cannage embroidery. This beautiful pochette features a polished silver chain strap, which I particularly like. This is because that is the detail that gives this bag that desired edge which transforms it into a bag you really want to buy, and not just some ordinary purse you saw the other day you can’t even remember which designer house released it anymore. The chain has a 22″ drop, another cute detail not seen too often this season, and the dangling Dior letters charm attached to it.

Other features include kahaki satin lining in contrast to white exterior, a flap magnetic closure and an interior leather trimmed pocket that comes with a small mirror.

If you feel like carrying a clutch on your night out, you can tuck the chain strap inside the bag and voila!, you have a beatiful clutch on your hands. This can come in very handy, because the chain strap may not fit all outfits nor all your moods

Prada Pleated Clutch

We have been seeing numerous clutches this season, with all details imaginable, but this one really stands out. It’s actually quite simple, but the pleated material gives this clutch a very special look. That’s the thing I like about Prada. Every once in a while, they make a very sophisticated, elegant bag, but they always spice it up just enough to make it look different in some way. This sofistication combined with uniquesness is what I adore, and it perfectly reflects itself in this pleated clutch.

This sabbia frame clutch is made of satin, featured with gold-toned hardware, push lock closure, satin lining with an interior side zip pocket and another organizational pocket.

When I first saw this purse, I instantly imagined myself carrying it to a fabulous New Year’s Eve party. This is not a purse you could carry around in broad daylight, I don’t think I would even carry it to an ordinary night out, but it’s definitely the purse to carry to any high profiled event. The color also complements most of your outfit combinations, and I think it does wonders if you choose to carry it along with a black dress.

Cole Haan “Layla collection python clutch”

Python print patent leather in plum color, nickel hardware, snap closure - very sophisticated, dont you think? I dont know why, but it’s like, you can finish a clutch with various closures, but with a snap closure the bag is given a different look - an elegant look.

Judging by the material, you might say this bag is more appropriate for a business woman in a grey neat dress attending an after-work party, or a movie star promoting a new movie, but thanks to its gorgeous fresh plum color I have no problem imagining a twenty-three year old woman, who decided to accessorize her flaunting tunic and skinny jeans with it.

I think you all will agree that this bag comes in consideration only if you have a somewhat larger collection of handbags in different sizes and shapes, but there is still some space left to fill it in with this beauty. Of course, this bag isn’t made for everyday use, and is to be carried rarely because you don’t want to wear it out.

Louis Vuitton “Monogram Motard Clutch”

Just how beautiful is this? This is one of those bags that make you dizzy from excitement just by looking at it.

The beautiful Monogram Motard quilted leather with embroidered streaks, Monogram, calf trimming and cotton lining, golden brass pieces, Louis Vuitton sigantured closure and a removable strap alltogether fulfill all the terms that are nominated this season.
