Attention everybody, especially those of you looking for a new clutch! Well, not just you, everybody! This is a bag that will change your mind whether you’re looking for a backpack, a travel bag or a shiny new evening bag. This is the ultimate bag, I’m telling you. It has everyhing that makes a bag perfect by my criteria. It is big, but not too big. It’s fresh and feminine and simply delicious thanks to the charming leather bands surrounding the whole bag. The tassel, also completely disarming, is completely removable, so you can play with the looks you aim to achieve. There’s no need to mention the flap top since it has become a sort of a synonym for clutches recently. Interior is satin lined and featured with zip pocket. The price is somewhat high, but I love it so much I’ll just overlook it.

Derek Lam “Lindsay Grande Bauletto Bag”

Ok.. I don’t know about you, but my senses tell me there is something wierd about this bag. I am not sure what to think of it yet. Should I hate it or should I like it? I am definitely not loving it and to be honest, I would never consider buying it either. I am still not sure if the bag is nice, but not neccessarily my style, or is it a miss. I will go for the latter, I’m affraid.

It seems too sporty to me, and it’s all because of that chubby look. I don’t know how they did it, but it looks like a bag I would carry to the gym. If it was made out of any other material other than leather, it would have been doomed. Aside from being sporty, it is a bit too plain for my taste. There is nothing special about it you could remember it for. It does have a few interesting details, the double handles and grained leather on the sides which both look great, but still, it looks as if there is something missing. They just didn’t get it this time imho.

Another thing, the zipped pocket on the front of the bag is really not suitable for this kind of a bag. I mean, where were they going with a zipper pull that looks like it was taken off a school backpack? And why are there two leather flaps on the ends of the pocket? I do not know. I think you figured the outcome of my dillema from the begining of the post by now.

Derek Lam “Consuelo Bag”

So yes, maybe some of us will need consolation incarnated in another bag after this one, some of us will find it in this one and as for me, I know I’ll have to find my consolation somewhere else. I don’t like this one and not in a disastrous way, more like in a I-wouldn’t-buy-it way because there’s nothing especially awfull about it, it’s just that some things don’t click.

For example, a bag shaped like this isn’t meant to be carried on a shoulder, that’s why it is made as a top-handle bag and the shoulder strap is thankfully removable and in my opinion - unnecessary. The ribbed leather is a nice detail, and goes along with this bag since it is a day-bag and definitely not a business one, but I would like to see this bag with the grained leather only at the bottom and not on the top of the bag too. I would just make it ribbed and that’s it, and maybe then it would go further.

As for the shape, rolled handles and aged brass hardware I have nothing to complain about. That’s expected since it is the way to go as for detailing the bag, so it’s not like we can see something new with this bag except the ribbed leather which hasn’t been seen recently on many bags.

I don’t know, honestly I don’t think this bag has many admireres.
