Bottega Veneta “Intrecciato Hobo Bag”

Before I noticed this cutie, I had my eyes on the Large intrecciato frame bag. The beautiful soft pastel color looked nothing short of fantastic and the bag itself seemed like a real find, but when I saw how it looked on a manakin, it suddenly lost all of it’s appeal. The shape and the looks are fine, but the size is the absolute deal breaker, it just looks too big. I was really dissapointed and about to close the browser and go do something else when I noticed this one, and before I could even take a better look, my creative bagddict juices started flowing again!

The Intrecciato Hobo comes in a pastel color simillar to the one I liked on the Large version, but in a much more agreeable size. I like the fact it is kind of slim at just 2” which gives it a more elegant look. The size is just perfect for a day bag. It is big enough to carry practically everything you might need throughout the day, but it does not look big and clumsy. I was pleasantly surprised by the sky blue suede interior which further emphasises the elegant look.

It has a detachable shoulder strap so it can be carried as a top handle or as s shoulder bag. You can also change the way it looks by pinning the sides to the rivets. This cutie has so many faces, you will never get bored with it. I just love it.

The top is featured with double zippers and double handles, and an interior zip pocket. The only downside is the price, but BV bags aren’t exactly the first choice when you are on a budget. It’s a BV, it’s beautiful and it’s practical, and it will look as good in 10 years as it does now, so the $3,540 price tag isn’t really that much of an issue as far as I am concerned.

Bottega Veneta “Sardegna Canvas Tote”

A friend of mine told me recently she would like to buy a bag in a yellow or some other vivid color for the spring season. We discussed the Marni Baloon Bag, which she thought looks great and which would fit her criteria perfectly. I couldn’t disagree, but I have to say the price of that bag is pretty high compared to some other interesting bags in the same style.

Just don’t fling it down whenever you get to the beach and you’ll be best friends with this bag for many seasons to come, which reminds me… This bag will look as beautiful in ten years carried by your daughter as it will when you take it out with you this year - it just has that timeless appeal to it. It’s a solid investment from which ever angle you look at it.

The interior is left without any pockets or compartments, which can be somewhat inconvenient, but it’s a summer bag and doesn’t aim to be anything else - no compartments, no pockets or slots - just fill it up and you’re ready to go.

Bottega Veneta “Drop Bag”

I have made a mental note about this bag a while ago and I’ve finally gotten to writing about it. Why have I been waiting so long? To be honest, there have been other bags which captured my attention so this one was kind of left aside. This is because Drop bag is a laid back kind of bag, simple both in shape and style, definitely not something you will see and go crazy about instantly, which is what I liked about it in the first place. Every woman needs a bag like this for those weekends when you feel like relaxing, perhaps taking a stroll in the park, and you still need s bag with you (when does a woman not need a bag?).

There are a few versions of the Drop bag available, but the one I liked most is the plain version in soft pink nappa leather. There is also another version of this bag available, the Cervo Illusion, which is not fully woven like the plain one, but has a woven detail on the front. The only problem I have with the Cervo Illusion are the colors which are giving the bag a worn out type of look which I really didn’t like. There is also a floral print version, which is cute, but definitely not my style, so it’s out of the question.

As I have mentioned earlier, the Drop bag is made of nappa leather, featured with a zip top closure and a suede lined interior. The shoulder strap drop is 16″, long enough for that careless look we all go for every now and then when we want to get away from all our problems and duties and relax a bit, not having to think much about anything, including our outfits.

Bottega Veneta “Intrecciato Butterfly Clutch”

This is the second bag from the Butterfly line, if I may call it that. I was not all that impressed with the Butterfly tote, because the butterflies on it were just too emphasised, I don’t know, it just didn’t have that profound elegance to it that Bottega Veneta bags usually do. The Butterflies were overdone for my taste. But the Intercciato clutch is a completely different story.

The clutch is featured with a single butterfly on the back, and only a tiny intriguing part of it’s wing is visible on the front - just perfect . What I found really funny was the fact that this clutch looked too small to me, it’s like I got so used to the oversized clutches that the standard sized ones appear small.. Or maybe it’s just the weather. Kidding.

Anyhow, this clutch is made of woven leather (nothing new, it’s a Bottega Veneta afterall), has a magnetic closure in the flap, press studs at the sides which allow you to expand the capacity of the clutch (very convenient), and divine blue suede lining. The only thing that did not like about it was how it looks from the sides. It does not look like your usual clutch. Eventhough it looks perfectly fine like this, I would have liked it better if it was flat. Carry it during the day or during the night, it fits both perfectly.

Bottega Veneta “Barcelona Large Cabat”

I had some free time today and while checking some of my favorite brands, I bumped into this exclusive piece. And by exclusive I mean only 500 pieces to be produced exclusive. Tina has already covered another limited edition Cabat that was released last year as a part of the resort collection, the Limited Editon Malindi Large Cabat. I personally found it a bit too colorful, but Tina couldn’t take her eyes off of it. It is still available @ BottegaVeneta.com if you are interested.

On the other hand, I find this one exceptional. The color is simply awesome, no doubt about that, regardless of it being maybe a bit too dark for a spring bag. Maybe I just got used to seeing very bright colors this season. However, the leather is shiny and thanks to the light reflecting off the shiny surface, the color looks lighter than it really is. I also love the grained leather handles, since they blend into the concept and do not strše van.

All Barcelona Cabats have a numbered plaque inside, since we’re talking limited edition. This beauty also made it to the creative director Tomas’ picks, set to be a must have.

Bottega Veneta SS08 Collection Online

Finally, we are able to see what Bottega Veneta has in store for us for the impatiently awaited spring season. There are some of the SS08 pieces available for online shoping as well! I am very glad to see the playful motifs in their new collection, such as the butterfly motif on one of the SS08 totes. I love the new bucket shape which looks both elegant and casual at the same time. However, I don’t like all the pieces presented in the new collection, even though seeing the whole collection made me pretty happy. Maybe it was due to the fact that I know I have a ton of choices available as well as the desperate need for some color after these cloudy days and any step in that direction is highly appreciated as far as I am concerned.

What I particularly liked were the Intrecciato nappa mini Veneta, the Cement waxed Python bag (I just love the turquoise/brown combination), the Cervo cosmetic case, which I probably couldn’t resist carrying around as a small purse (divine) and the Olio Soft Crocodile Tote (I’m not demanding at all hah!).

Bottega Veneta Ayers Snakeskin Clutch

For those of you who would like to see people turn green from envy, this is the perfect bag to buy. It’s as simple as that - just do it… Don’t think twice because the longer you wait, the bigger the possibility of you being the one green from envy is. For those of you who just want a beautiful bag you should also go and buy it… Race the ones who want to make you jealous earlier mentioned :-). You see a beautiful bag, you buy that beautiful bag. Interior is suede lined with a zipped pocket alowing you to store your essentials easily, which is important when it comes to clutches, since they can very often suffer from a lack of space. This one is extended at the bottom which makes it even better because of the contrast to the flattened flap top structuring the bag.

Bottega Veneta “Bianco Intrecciato Nappa New Ball Bag”

Tina is in a summery mood today and it caught on to me. I was feeling like a tropical getaway lately, but now I’m just looking forward to summer and all it represents, especially the letting go of all your problems part. Having that visualised, when I saw this bag I could practicaly feel the warm sea breeze. See how far this is going?

Let’s get back to the bag. As much I could imagine myslef carrying this bag on a warm day somewhere by the sea, I can imagine myself just as much carrying it in the city. Bottega Veneta “Oversized Intrecciato Tote”

Now, you tell me does it get any better than this? Here you have a standard Bottega’s shape flavored with a beautiful, shiny red shade, making this bag so irresistible and exceptional that I’m finding it really hard to control myself from buying it immediately.

I have been experiencing rather strange sensations when around Bottega’s bags lately, which is probably a result of me craving to see their bags get slightly more edgy for some time now .

You remember my post about Limited Malindi Cabat which made me lose my breath? I always did and I always will admire and respect designers that stick to their ideas and don’t get distracted with every single latest trend, but sometimes that does get a bit boring. The weaving implemented to Bottega’s bags does make every one of their bags different than any other, but still, sometimes that’s just not enough. It sure looks like the house of Bottega Veneta came to the same conclusion and, may I say, it makes me very happy.

I may not buy every bag they come up with or redesign, but just knowing that there is a variety of bags available for me out there leaves me satisfied.

Bottega Veneta Resort 2007 - Handbags

You can always count on Bottega Veneta if you are looking for a recognizable, sophisticated and classy accessory. Whether it’s a bag or the shoes, if it’s implemented by weaving or made of exotic leather, you can always be sure that the skill and knowledge of Bottega Veneta’s artificers will be recognized and admired. I must admit that I was a little bored for a while by their bags. It seemed as though they were so busy making them as perfect as they are that they didn’t bother designing something new and refreshing. Then things started to move and now we have a brand new resort collection with some older, but refreshed, and some new bags.

First of all, I would like to focus on the Limited Editon Malindi Large Cabat which is absolutely breathtaking. I don’t know what else to say… I mean, just look at it and tell me if there’s anything about it you can criticize? Remember it is also listed as a “must have” by Bottega’s creative director Tomas Maier, meaning that Bottega relied on this one to be their new allure. We have already seen few limited editioned Cabat bags and they are also gorgeous, but Malindi is something so unexpected and beautiful which makes it hard to be compared to any other bag. Cheerfull, fresh, playful but still sophisticated and classy-it gives us such an impression that it has so much to give, but still it wants very much in return. It wants you to be bold and self-confident or else it can’t represent you.

This is one of the clutches also from the Resort Collection and I like it very much. It’s beautifully designed and it’s obvious how much attention was given in using all the virtues python skin has to give to a bag, but also that’s nothing new since it’s a Bottega Veneta’s masterpiece. It’s kind of an exotic clutch that doesn’t require a certain age of a woman carrying it so that’s a plus, but… No matter how blinded by its beauty I am, something is so obvious that I can’t finish this post without saying it and it’s the resemblence between it and Hermes Baccara which is impossible not to notice.
