Eric Javits “Squishee Clip”

I was browsing the new arrivals and I bumped into this beauty. Although winter has just begun a couple of days ago, I am already getting into a summery mood every time I look for new bags. This is no surprise since I love summer; the long, sunny, warm days, beautiful sunsets at 9 pm instead of 4 pm, lying on the beach suntaning, and of course, the sea. It’s not like I hate winter, but you have to admit that, apart from Christmas and New Year, winter is kind of depressing. I do love the festive spirit present at this time of the year, I love to watch snow falling, but nevertheless, I do get fed up with it all very soon and the short days are killing me.

I like this bag for many reasons, but the thing that impressed me was the versatility of this bag. You can wear it in numerous occasions, and by that I do not only mean getting a cup of coffee or going on a shopping spree, more like any regular activity you might find yourself doing on a warm summer day, both in the city and at the beach. The only thing that doesn’t fit into the beach scenario are the protective sutds at the bottom of the bag, but I do not think I would carry this one to the beach anyway, it’s way too salty there for any of my bags to be allowed near It looks very elegant when carried on the shoulder, and that is one of the characteristics I look for in a bag.

This bag comes in 13 different colors, but I am going to list only the ones I like: fuchsia/natural, orange/natural, natural/peri, navy/cream and natural. I do not have a personal favorite at the moment, and I do not think I will grow to like one better than the rest, so I will have to think outfits if I decide to go for it eventually.

This tote is made of the Squishee® material, detailed with brushed gold tone hardware. On the official Eric Javits site they state that the bag will keep it’s shape when full, the material is durable and that the bag is lightweight. The clip on handles have an 8″ drop, making it easy to search inside while it’s still on your shoulder. The bag has a triple magnetic closure, securing the interior eventhough it practically is an open top bag. The interior is very spacious, featuring a key fob and one zipped and four slip pockets for easy organization and searching.

Squishee Clip is definitely not one of those bags you will go crazy over, and then pull it out only three times per year, it’s more of a bag that will end up going out with you often when the occasion does not dictate something more serious.
