Burberry “Mini Studed Tote & Hobo”
I was in a real dilemma about which one of these bags I should write about. I would normally pick a hobo over a tote, but in this case I was even more clinging towards the tote. This tote somehow seems more special then the hobo version, but then again, I took a look at the black hobo version.. So, since there was no end to my dilemma in sight, I decided to write a post about both these bags.
I’ll start with the hobo. Perfect shape - check, big rolled leather handle - check, catchy stud detail - check. There is not one thing I can say about this bag that would even sound like critique. And I must ceirtainly applaud the designers at Burberry for the choice of hardware. For the sand version they picked gold toned hardware, which is not even close to being too glittery. For the black and white versions they chose to go with jet nickel hardware. Had they by any chance chosen to go with the gold toned hardware on the black version as well, I assure you the Mini Studed Hobo would be miles away from this post. There is another version of the studed hobo, it is a signature check version with only the leather straps covered with mini studs and I know all of you Burberry check lovers will fall in love with it instantly. I am not sure about check myself yet, I do not have anything against it but I somehow never looked too much at Burberry check bags when I was looking at what the had prepared for us.
The tote is also beautiful. I love the grained leather on the front which makes it look more compact to me. It comes with a detachable shoulder strap, which I wouldn’t ever take off because it is a part of its charm. Without it, it looks much more plain and if the designers chose to leave it out, the hobo would have won the battle.
Both these bags are very spacious, equipped with a huge zip and multiple patch pockets - good for organizing the stuff you usually carry around with you. The tote has a leather base, which is the only feature the hobo doesn’t have. The vertical leather straps are essential to these bags’ looks, without the the studed detail wouldn’t mean much, as the bag wouldn’t be that much eye catching.
