Prada SS08 “Crispy Clutch”
I bumped into this cutie after an hour of constant frustration caused by the lack of information regarding Prada products. I was trying to connect one of the new Prada additions to a name and, frankly, that is impossible if you do not contact or visit a Prada store. Don’t even try the offiicial website since you will find practicaly no info there. I didn’t find out how they named the bag so you will have to wait a bit more for that article to be posted. But then, in all that frustration I noticed this cutie. And I want it, NOW! This does not happen to me very often, to see a bag and to want to have it that moment. I see bags which I love and really want, but this is one step higher.
The coral color immediately got my attention. This is one of those pieces I wouldn’t part from both during the day and night. And let me remind you, the coral color and some caught sun tan are a killer combination. Brrrr… Chills… Sorry.. Anyway, you can carry it as a clutch or as a writslet, wristlet is my preffered choice in this case. The gold toned hardware is perfect! See, this is the way to make gold look fab on a bag, a textbook example.
I love the chubby look, I love the “crispy” fabric, it makes it look playful, energetic, “summer-ready” ;), but still sophisticated, like most of the Prada bags look. I couldn’t find any info on whether the wrist strap is detachable or not, but that does not in any way change how I feel about this clutch.

Louis Vuitton “Valentine’s Day Vernis”
Both Zoe and I love Louis Vuitton and we are both lately feasting our eyes on the LV Vernis Line so it’s nothing strange to see another post about it after Zoe did that Violette Vernis. Burberry “Studed Check Hobo”
This is merely a follow up on the post I already did about the Burberry Mini Studed tote and hobo which I wrote a few days ago. I was browsing Nordstrom just now and I bumped into this new arrival and I just had to share it with you. This version is featured in a grey and green check, which is more subtle than the regular check version, but a bit more refreshing. This version is a bit larger, and a bit more expensive than the regular check one. The choice between these two boils down to whether you’d like to have a more subtle version or the one which stands out more. I love both, but I am clinging a bit towards the regular check version.

Louis Vuitton “Damier Azur Berkeley”
I see that Louis Vuitton has decided to name some of their new Damier Canvas releases after chic and classy places in London. I have already written a post about LV Hampstead in which I shared my passion for that part of London. The Berkeley square is one of the most sought after places to get your hands on in terms of housing, but I feel it is a bit too close to the rush that is going on on a daily basis in London. I like Hampstead better, it is much more charming and stress free.
But in this post I will leave most of my impressions about places in London and focus on the bag at hand. The Berkeley bag is one of the recent additions to the Louis Vuitton Damier canvas collection and, just like Hampstead, it looks fabulous. I find it less chic and more, how should I put this, sporty would perhaps do it. It’s shape reminds me of Speedy, but an “improved” Speedy, with more details. Berkeley is also an every day bag, which will, just as Hampstead or Speedy, be found on the crook of your elbow for many upcoming years.
This is a scoop of the Berkeley features: the golden logo engraved plaque on the front, adjustable handles, double zipper closure, file textile lining in beige (red textile lining is featured in the Damier Canvas Berkeley and both click with the vibes of each bag), natural cowhide leather trim, protective metal feet, patch pockets on the sides and internal patch and cell phone pockets. Enough said.
The Berkeley I fell in love with is the Damier Azur one. It looks, I can’t even express myself.. Fabulous, adorable, stunning, exceptional, beautiful, amazing, fascinating, none of this will do. It is a prefect young woman’s day handbag (and by this I do not exclude anyone, it’s just how I imagine the bag) no matter if it’s snowing or 95 degrees in the shade.
After I have seen Hampstead I made a special spot in my heart for it and I didn’t think that this soon there would be a bag that would come and make it “share” that spot, but it did. Both of these bags are a special part of the LV collection, classier than most, eventhough Berkeley is a bit sportier, it is classy sporty and I love it! It is available on eLuxury, but better hurry, the Rayures clutch was gone in a blink of an eye!

YSL “Raspail Large Tote”
I think we can all agree when I say there’s something strange with the red color on this bag. Red can have a huge magnetic effect especially if it’s in a right shade and if the bag itself, of course, is a hit. This time, however, we have a rather plain and simple bag which isn’t special at all, from the shape to the material - simple tote in crocodile-embossed patent leather… Been there, done that…But it’s the bright and strong red that gives this bag it’s personality and charm.
It is also available in black and white ivory, and if I had to choose between these two I’d go for the ivory one since the black doesn’t emphesize the croc-embossed detail enough, and the bag looks sort of dull no matter how gleaming the patent leather is.
The interior is canvas lined, featured with cell phone and zip pockets and closed with a magnetic closure. It’s made as a top handle bag with double handles with a 6″ drop which makes it perfect when carried on the crook of your elbow since it’s rather big, but lighweighted and comfy looking. I say it’s a great accessory for weekend shopping sprees and girls-lunch-out

Burberry “Warrior Bag”
The Warrior bag has caused a lot of buzz, and it is mainily because of it’s sky high price. The price for the gold aligator skin Warrior is £13 000, which has caused quite a few negative reactions. When I first saw it and noticed the price tag, the first thought was:”Waaaait a sec, £13 000 for a bag that you will be able to carry throughout this season but next year, when it isn’t such a hit anymore, you couldn’t use it for anything, thus have another “dust collector” on your hands?? Nooooo…” I have seen many people think the same way I do, but there will definitely be a high demand for the Warrior in the super rich circles - it is expensive and it is limited edition, what else do you need? But for all not-so-super-rich people, purchasing this bag makes no sense, even if they could afford it and never look back. There are, of course, less expensive versions of Warrior so I will focus on those in my post.
I would like to state that Warrior, eventhough it is something new and definitely something different, didn’t quite appeal to me. It strikes me as a bit odd, and I usually love the bags I buy, they sure do not look odd to me. The ones that would appeal to me most would probably be the least expensive version - the one which is in soft leather, and the black version with metal studs, although I am still not sure if I like the metal decorative studs and the cube toggle combination. I am not much of an exotic bags fan, and in this case, I would prefer the non exotic version. There is another version of the Warior - the nova check Warrior, which also caught my attention, but not because I liked it more then the original Warrior, but because of the contrast in the check and the gold toned hardware which I find really cute, yes, thats the word, cute.
The one thing I like about Warrior is the way it’s interior is organized. It has three compartments, out of which the central one is zipped and features a zip and patch pockets, and the compartments on the sides are featured with magnetic top closures. Since it has multiple compartments it is ideal for organizing your essentials, for example, if you are carrying a magazine with you, you can separate it from the rest of the stuff. I know I have a hard time finding things when I carry a magazine with me.
And that’s about all I could say about this line. It certainly did catch my attention, but my verdict is that there are much nicer bags out there.

Louis Vuitton “Violette Vernis”
This is a very pleasant surprise, I must say. I had my eyes on the Vernis collection for some time now and the only color that suited my taste was amarante. However, another color I like is now available - violette. There are also some new additions in this color, in the Walltes and small leather goods demartment. I have been seriously considering getting one of the Vernis wallets lately, but since I liked the amarante color only, my choices were quite limited. The delicious Sunset Boulevard is now also availale in violette as well, which makes four different colors you can choose from - me like. Roxbury drive, which we didn’t cover so far, is available in violette as well.
In the Wallets and small leather goods department I found violette Zippy (me like ) and Pochette wallets, Heart coin purse, Key and change holder in violette, to mention a few. Also, small ring and mini agendas are available in violette from now on.
I have noticed that the French purse and key and change holder and the Bedford bag are available in Indigo blue, which is also very interesting, especially to me, since my fav color is blue (turquoise to be more precise, but all other shades are wlecome as well).

Dior “Soft Dior Babe Small Shopping Bag”
I was drawn to this new Dior release primarily because I loved the color. Out of all the shades of purple we have been seeing on bags recently, this one takes the cake. Eventhough the bag is in a somewhat darker shade of purple, it still looks very soft, tempting you to squeeze it and not let go of it, at least that is the effect it has on me. So, after it had all my attention I noticed the clutch that comes with the bag and at that moment I was sold. The Babe Small Shopping Bag is adorable as well, it really is, but my heart belongs to the clutch. Unfortunately, the clutch is not available as a stand alone item, but if you choose to purchase the bag, you are practically buying two bags, which is also tempting.
What I also like is the fact that the Dior logo is not noticable, on the shopping bag you practiacally cannot notice it since it is engraved in the silver handles, and on the clutch it is embroided on the front but does not stand out in a tacky way. I have already stated my opinion on the logo issue, how I do not like it in general. I am a bit flexible on this rule, depending on how much I like the bag in question, but I prefer my bags to be logo free.
The circular silvertone handles with leather trim are a very intriguing detail, especially since the silvertone hardware and the purple shade create a very clean look togehter. The pintucked leather is the detail which brings this bag to life, and it also gives it volume. The interior is fine textile lined, the base is circular and flat with protective metal studs, and the top is open. The open top issue is something I do not like, since I like my bags to have some kind of closure, flap, zip, whatever that secures everything I carry with me. If they don’t, I can’t feel as relaxed as I would otherwise. But I decided to let this one pass because of the shape of the top, it seems as if the interior is not too accessible.
The clutch that comes with the bag is multifunctional. You can carry it attached to the inside of the bag either as large cosmetic case or sticking outside of the bag, or you can carry it separately, as a clutch. I would personaly use it for “clutch purposes” only, since it looks simply adorable. The design resmebles the Dior Gispy Fold over Cltuch in terms of pintucked leather on the bottom and the transition from the bottom to the top. We loved the Gipsy one and we sure love this one!

Dior “Jazzclub Bag”
One of the novelties from Dior this spring is the Jazzclub collection. I am not sure what to think about it, I have just went through the collection and I was not really impressed at first sight. I really do not like the Jazzclub pouch and I definitely do not like the leopard printed pieces. I did however like the Jazzclub white wallet at first glance. The Jazzclub bag is still giving me a hard time figuring out whether I like it or not.
There is something about the chain shoulder strap that does not quite fit into the picture. If the strap was made of leather it would have had a much better chance of getting me to like it more. But, the designers decided to go for the chain, and there is nothing I can do about that. I like the shape of the bag, I like the size of the bag, I like the aged leather, I even like the huge silver metal circle on the flap, eventhough it might be a bit of a hassle to open the bag, but I simply do not like the chain. It makes the bag look a bit cheap in some way and the fact that it is interlaced with leather is not helping improve the whole impression the chain left on me.
The Jazzclub Bag is is presented at the moment on the Dior official site in black and white aged leather versions and in zebra and leopard print pony leather. I really, but really, do not like the leopard version. It just does not look class - period. The white aged leather is also not my favourite, I think it would look much nicer if it were in cream, or something more softer, since the in white version it looks a little raw to me. The black leather is a different story, everything looks great, except for the chain issue that is. The zebra printed version does stand out but I am not so sure about it. I have to emphasize my concern about how the pony finished leather looks irl, since it does not look too classy in the pics, and in that case I would not like the zebra print as well.
